The Youth and Volunteer Centre of Red Deer is a non-profit "grass roots" community based volunteer agency which has been serving Central Alberta for more than twenty five years. The Youth and Volunteer Centre governs five distinct independent programs. Two of these programs are nationally affiliated. They are Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Boys and Girls Club. The other programs within the agency include the 49th Street Youth Shelter, and Camp Alexo.
