We've all been there. Good intentions gone awry. Your new coif is not at all like the photo. Maybe your hair's turned green, or worse, fallen out. One too many snips here and there, and before you know it sadly, you're having a bad hair day — but this one lasts for weeks.
Not so for Cathy Polonio. In 1994, at just fourteen, she walked into Pillars Salon in North Burnaby for a haircut. That afternoon she walked out extremely pleased with the results — a great 'do and her first job.
"I chatted with the stylist about her career, and asked a lot of questions, particularly if she enjoyed working there," recalls Cathy. "I thought it would be something I'd like, and by the end of the week I was washing hair and answering phones."
