Pets and owners alike enjoy visiting Maple Meadows Dog Grooming, where the dogs run free. The salon is owned by groomer Charlene Kinney, who's a dog lover first and foremost. The affection she feels for her canine clients is easy to see in the shop. Charlene has assumed many jobs and roles throughout her life, but when she took over Maple Meadows in 2010, she knew it was the right fit for her: "I'm absolutely loving this," she says.
"It's just a passion for the animals — really liking the animals," Charlene continues. "I have some friends that do rescue as well, so some of those poor dogs that come from rescue, they're in fairly bad shape." She takes great joy in helping out local dogs with her skills as a groomer and by volunteering with environmental education. "It's just a really all-around good feeling."
Maple Meadows already had regular customers when Charlene took over ownership. She works hard to keep those customers just as happy as they were in the past, and is appreciative every day of their support. Initially, Charlene came in to work with the previous owner. She immediately felt a connection with the atmosphere and community. "I came to help her at first, and then the clientele and the people, just the whole environment — I fell in love with it," she says. "I couldn’t help but want to jump in on it."
