Founded by Jason Zhang in 2009, Robokids is an after-school program with a full range of dynamic and engaging comprehensive robotics programs for children aged four–16. Each program includes planning, building and programming robots for presentation and competition, and integrates many challenges, such as mathematics and science concepts.
“Often people think because kids are building things that it’s just fun. But it’s more than that—this is serious learning. We are preparing kids for the future,” explains Jason. “Kids learn when they are engaged, when they set their own goals and see the result. Sometimes when parents look at their kids and see what they are able to do, they are scared!”
In 2014, Robokids impressed the world at VEX IQ Robotics Competitions. “There were 10,000 teams fighting for the title and we won the current world champion for Canada,” says Jason proudly.
