Opening a book and record shop came naturally to Tim Carson in 1993. To fuel his passion for reading and music, during his teens he began collecting first editions and rare records.

“In the process of building my own collection I started having extra stuff to sell, and before I knew it I had a lot of extras, so it occurred to me I might try opening a store,” says Tim.

Carson Books and Records boasts a carefully curated selection of literature, non-fiction, sci-fi, cookbooks, art books, new age books and books on Buddhism alongside an extensive collection of record albums. The store is a quiet, calm space with a welcoming atmosphere.

“Customers are free to browse through the collection to their own content,” says Tim. “And we’re always happy to make suggestions and point people to books and records that we think they’ll enjoy.”
