Disappointing after sales service
I used Kirkfield to purchase an AC unit back in 2006, having previously used them for heating services. Their salesman was excellent - very knowledgeable and friendly. I went ahead and ordered the AC unit through them. Even before the AC unit was installed, Kirkfield switched the order to another unit advising the previous one was no longer available, but that the new one was a better model (how was I to know for sure). This should have been a red flag. The after sales service was terrible. When the unit burnt out after using for just 2 summers (and barely used), Kirkfield advised the warranty was invalid as I had not had them come to service the unit annually. I do not recall this being discussed as part of the service agreement, and could not find any paperwork confirming this. Kirkfield's quote to fix the unit was higher than another company's, but yet they were not prepared to match the quote, AND they still charged me for the call out service to get the quote. I regret recommending this company to so many people.
