Great food, great atmosphere. I highly recommend this place. Very classy.
Dined in this restaurant a few times with a couple of friends. Food is delicious, however, serving time is too long. My advise. Probably call to order half an hour prior to arrival to the restaurant. It takes approximately that long for your food to be served since the chef has to make it from scratch. Polite servers. Restaurant ambiance is relaxed and comfortable. Will definitely come back but will have to reserve and order ahead of time.
We decided to go to Nonna's Cucina for our monthly 3 couple dinner. We we pleasently surprised by the prices, seeing the past reviews of the restaurant. All 3 couples decided on the prixfix menu($30 each)it included an appetizer, entree and dessert!!!(whoever thinks that might be too much for a FULL dinner;probably should'nt be going out to eat)All courses were larger than most restaurants! The atmosphere and service here is impeccable! They were very warm and welcoming, and above all professional!I would definately reccommend Nonna's for a wonderful dining experience! Thanks for dinner Nonna ;)
Upon reading the other 2 reviews I was skeptical about dining at Nonna's.............Thankfully I decided to go and check it out myself! This place is amazing! My party started off by getting seated, promptly by the hostess,(very nice middle aged woman)We then were asked for our order by the most professional, warm waiter. The food here is to die for!I ordered the Antipasta platter.......holyyyy huge!Sooo fresh and tasty! We then had a glass of their house wine, again perfect, the waiter(Gary I believe)was sooo very attentive his timing impeccable to take our dinner order. We decided on the Chicken Marsala, and Veal Pamigian.................The best Chicken Marsala I've EVER tasted! The Veal Parm my husband also said was very enjoyable. This particular evening they had live music, and the atmosphere was again very pleasing! We will definately be back here NO DOUBT!!
Firstly, it's presumably a restaurant, not a bar - annoying, distracting flat screen tv's everywhere. Secondly, music from hell - not an iota of fine dining possible here. Then there's the food! Nice multigrain bun baked yesterday - dry and crumbly! Mussels tasted as if they were cooked in a salt reduction until we tasted the "panini" - (someone needs to point out to them that it is panino not panini, unless you're talking about MORE than one) it so salty it absolutely burned the mouth - inedible. You decide for yourselves
Absolutely the best thin crust pizza in Burlington! My husband is really picky and will only order pizza now from Nonna's. We really enjoy the caesar salad too with what is clearly fresh made dressing. Great date night choice as well as take-out.
Nonna's is a definite NO NO!! NEVER AGAIN! The portions are very small, and the price ticket is very large. Don't think you get a bottomless cup of coffee either!
Let me start off by saying” worst mistake ever”. My husband and I decided to try Nonna’s and what a disappointment. We were greeted by a nice lady when we entered and escorted to our seats; everything else was down hill after that. Not accommodating at all. I wanted to substitute veal for chicken and the waitress said no, I wanted to add chicken in my pasta (like a chicken penne) the waitress said no, I asked her to only put tomatoes on half of the bruschetta and I got a nasty look. I explained to the waitress that my husband doesn’t like tomatoes and I was again told no. “Really, they can’t even accommodate me on not having tomatoes on half of the bruchetta that I’m paying for”. I don’t care if it’s out of the norm; what ever happened to making your customers happy. Basically, what you see on the menu is what you get (no changes) I decided to order chicken Marsala and my husband ordered a veal parm entree. It was awful. The chicken tasted liked processed chicken and the sauce was horrible. My husband’s pasta was hard and cold and his veal was edible but as he puts it “I can make better at home”. The waitress was not welcoming and the service was brutal; she didn’t even come to see if we needed a refill or something of that sort. Let’s just say I refused to eat my dinner (if you could call it that) because honestly it tasted like TV. dinner. We will NEVER enter Nonna’s again; not even if the meal was free. Don’t waste your time and money.
I have been to Nonna's four times and have noticed that their service is totally inconsistent. When the owner (I forget her name) is on the premises, the restaurant runs like a clockwork. But when she is gone, boy does that place fall apart. On our last visit we waited ages for our drinks (only to find them to be stingy and watered-down) - we sent them back. Our food took so long we contemplated leaving, and when it finally arrived it was mediocre at best. We also had to request bread... twice. On the occasions that Lady Owner was there, we were treated to a wonderful evening with excellent service, generous portions and fresh beautiful food. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be back. This place is far too inconsistent, and I would rather spend my money on a meal that isn't a gamble. Too bad for Nonna's... they had a good thing going. Perhaps Lady Owner needs to clean-house, dump some of her badly trained staff and start all over again. Maybe then I will be back.
this is classic italian food with home made flair service is great friendly family atomosphere felt the love in the food and service. love this place go every chance we get ! cant believe the bad reviews never seen anyone in this resturant unhappy when ive dined there all hugs and kisses and compliments from the diners when they leave . keep up the good work ! see you next week ! thanks nonna
My family decided to try Nonna's, being from Brampton we thought it would be a nice change. The place looked great from first glance. Sad to say, I am Italian, and this is possibly the WORST Italian food I have ever eaten. My pasta with prawns was drenched in what I can only describe as WATER (not sauce), and the actual pasta was mushy. My husband had steak, and I'm not sure if it just wasn't cooked or what - but their meat didn't smell right, and ended up making him very very sick. Needless to say, I have a feeling this place will not be in business for much longer, the reviews say it all.
Pasta Aioli was ordered and enjoyed but it was nothing special. However the portion size was small. No extra parmesan cheese was offered. I enquired if this was a lunch size portion, answer: no server brought one small bun to accompany my single order. (dined alone). when he eventually brought more bread, it was one small bun again. not inspired to return.
I have had one visit to Nonna's and I am still unsure if I will be going back. The food was pretty good with a simple tomato sauce and, what seemed like, fresh pasta. The salad was good as was my sandwich. THe issue was that is took forever. Now before I get schooled in the idea that italian food is not about speed, I can understand that. The issue was it took ten fifteen minutes to order and the food took 30 minutes to come out (nothing was more complicated than spaghetti and meatballs) . The entire lunch, ordered directly off the lunch menu, took us 1.5 hours. Overall good food, a tad overpriced, slow but friendly service. Nothing to get all that excited about.
I've been to Nonna's about 5 times and have fallen in love with the atmosphere and the food. I always order gluten free items and I am amazed at how good tastes. I've become a regular.
I have been to Nonna's several times and will go back again for sure. The food is fantastic, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very nice. I don't know what all the bad reviews are about, but I am glad I tried this for myself. Try this place out, you will be glad you did!
I finally got in to writing a review. Let me start by knocking all those other reviews. I've have been to Nonna's several times, with friends and family, and at first it was a little strange with no substitutions and alla cart menu. People had their mixed feelings about it. But I was just there on the weekend, and anyone who has been there before, check them out again! They have a new menu which is amazing, the dishes come with sides. And they have ALFREDO sauce, which my wife thought was superb. My dad ordered the new chicken cacciatore, which was served with rigatoni pasta, to die for. And my mom had the seafood pasta. It was like the ocean was in her bowl. Crab claws, lobster tail, huge shrimp, it was outstanding. Wine selection was great! We had a highly recommended Zinfandel wine from Cali, the waiter said it was unbelievable. Then dessert came around, it was what sent us off into heaven. A triple chocolate cake with brownie and Nonna's home style carrot cake was where we drew the line. Service was excellent, live music was great. An awesome place to hang out an enjoy your night. And to all those that are looking for a new hang out with great Italian food, check em out. You will be surprised.
We had a gathering at Nonna's on Sat March 19th .when we got there around 8pm, the place was hopping . We were greeted and our table was waiting for us . The atmosphere was full of energy and our friends that had never been here before were excited The food and service through out the evening was superb . The musician named Cody was extremely enjoyable and kept us there all night long . Our friend loved the food ,the spagetti with clams possibly the best I ever had . I don't usually write reviews but Nonna's deserves to be commended for providing us with great experience that my friends enjoyed very much and made my wife and I look good Thank you to the staff and Cody for a great evening
We decided to go check out Nonna's against a few of our friends warnings. When we arrived we were greeted by a hostess that was nice and accomodating. That is about as far as our positive experience went. Our server was a loud mouthed overbearing gentleman who had no sense of timing. He forgot to order one of our entrees and was very 'stressed out' with his workload. We waited way too long to be greeted and our drinks took forever. When the food finally arrived it was lukewarm and the veal parmagiano was so tough that I had to order something else, which was not any better. The ceasar salad was weak and not worth the $$$$! The owners seemed to be nonchalant idiots who only took great care of "selective customers" and did not give a hoot about the rest! The chef/owner came out and made his rounds all while avoiding our table, all of this after they forgot one of our entrees, served us lukewarm horrible food and delivered POOR service! There was nothing done for us, not even a dessert on the house!! The server even had the audacity of bringing us the bill with the returned entree on it! He told me that the owner did not believe the entree should have been returned!! Unbelievable!! DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! OVERPRICED AND HORRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE!!
My BF and I went to Nonna's on Wednesday night for pizza. They have terrific pizza, I will give them that, but even that, like most other aspects of this restaurant are beginning to slide. We decided to share a caesar salad to start, When it arrived, it was barely dressed, there were no croutons, the lettuce was really bitter (and some of it brown) and there were 3 chunks of the core of the lettuce, We advised the waitress who stated that there was someone new in the kitchen. Someone who doesnt know what goes into a caesar salad??? And even if that was the case, the chef should not have let it out of the kitchen the way it was. Where is the quality control?? The chef was "shmoozing" with people in the dining room. He was offering to make them seafood risotto that is not on the menu. Their salads came out of the kitchen and were piled twice as high as ours and I could easily see from where I was sitting that they had croutons and more dressing. I guess if you are friends with the chef you get great food but to hell with the rest of us, For $12, I would have liked to have enjoyed my salad. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have had problems with Nonna's. When it first opened, I was there repeatedly and would often recommend it. But this was the 4th time there had been an issue. That was my LAST visit to Nonna's.
I guess some people just have it out for Nonna. But i like being the good grandson. I was recently in with my parents on Saturday, i have to admit it was a little crowded but it was fun. Live music is a new added touch, its nice adds to the atmosphere, my family really enjoyed it. The dinner, was great!! we started of with pizza, my fav! it has to be the Horseshoe's best pizza. it should be declared a wonder of the world, its so good. Then followed by the fried calamari and a spinach salad. My father ate the sardines, not my fav. But to each is their own. My mother had the sea bass, she loved it. My wife had the veal parmesan that look like it came off of a dinosaur, along with pasta. i had the truffle risotto that was to die for. Dessert was simple, lava cake with ice cream and tiramisu. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. It was truly a great experience. Once again Nonna's and her staff did a great job at feeding and entertaining my family and i. Job well done!!!
Wonderful evening exelent service a 10
