My Fiancee' and I came from the movies, and as a couple we've never been to Mikes Place. So there's a first time for everything, It looked nice inside, but that's about it. Service was horrible,There were 4 waitresses in there and it really wasn't that busy, but it took forever just to get decent service. The panzerotti was sub par at best. The crust was super hard and the sauce was way too thin and had a orange juice taste about. It's not what I remembered back in the day.

Usually when I go I get the Club House with Fries and gravy, it has real big chunks of chicken on it and comes with a side of corn and coleslaw which it to die for!
My hubby gets a meat lovers pizza, it is a little pricey but I have never seen a pizza with SO many toppings with all real cooked meat! there is hardly any cheese on that thing. He just LOVES it!.

Mikes Place is one of those restaurants I go back to every once an awhile to see if it has improved on anything. Sadly everytime I leave I am greatly disappointed that I have again wasted my money on this establishment. (Sorry to be harsh, but it's the truth)
Their food is okay, and many people love their panzerottis, I am not one of them. The thing that disappoints me the most is the service, one time I went there and we saw the waitress when we made our order and when we got the bill, we had to ask someone to fill our drinks and no one came to ask how we were doing, if our food was ok or if we needed anything. The last time I went (which brought me to writing this review) I had gone with two friends and two of our children (babies). I have never been so angry at the way we have been treated, sure the waitress came to our table a number of times, but the attitude....was very poor. I could go into details but, this review would become a novel. Anyway here is my two cents, I wouldn't recommend.
Used to be alot better, but the pizza and panzi is still the best in town.
I normally don't order anything other than these items and some of the appetizer, but last time I decided I wanted something different and ordered an entree. Boy was I wishing I got the panzi. My meat was obviously pre-cooked and reheated, and was only luke warm. Salad was fine.
Stick with what they are famous for.
This is a great place for draft beer, and over priced appetizers. The food is really nothing special. My kids can make their own pizza - so that's kind of fun. The staff is always pretty good. I've probably eaten here 50 times.
Definitely a great panzerotti!! Portion sizes are huge and so are the drinks! If your looking for good ribs - Mike's is not really the "place" for that! If you are in the mood for pizza or panzerotti's - you won't be disappointed. They also have really fast pick up menu and always pretty hot. Atmosphere is pretty good too - a bit dark but it is a bar. Will go back again for sure.
I disagree with the last writer. Their panzerottis are tops in C-K. If you had a bad one I am sure staff would have corrected it or refunded your moulah.
The owners actually cook and take pride in the product.

I have eaten at Mike's Place at least twice a month for the last 3 years since I moved to Chatham, and I have never left there disappointed! The only issue I have is they have too many awesome choices on their menu, so it might take you a while to make up your mind ;) Especially once you try everything on the menu, it makes your choice very difficult....Check it out, you will never be disappointed!
Also they make the best Caeser ever, right amount of spices, and pickle juice....WOW!!!!!

Wonderful meal! This has become our favourite destination when dining out. Ponzerotti's are the best we've ever had! I completely disagree with the comment below about the sauce being bland. The reason we love the ponzerotti's here so much is because of the wonderful sauce -- which is far better than any meat sauce I've had. Changing the sauce to include meat would be a complete disaster. Also, it's a good option for vegetarians who still like to enjoy a ponzerotti.
Excellent meal! Everything tasted so good! The ponzerotti was wonderful and perfectly cooked. Absolutely the only place in town to go if you want a perfect ponzerotti. Everything else was perfect too - both the food and the service. Also, a good place to bring your kids - my 3 year old daughter loves the toy chest and it has great toys in it to choose from, not just cheap junk like most places.
The greek salad was the worst I have ever seen anywhere and they give raspberry dressing with iceburg lettuce. I went to the washroom and got a look at the kitchen. Very dirty and the washrooms are horrid. I am telling all friends and family not to go there.Not to mention when leaving people were getting high outside!!!

Had one of my best ever tastin' pizzas here the other night. All dressed, lots of cheese (no extra charge..crust was great, lots of toppings.
I don't like giving "10s" out so freely, but these guys have the neighbourhood pub atmosphere down right. Staff is friendly and helpful, the owners work there and sit in the crowd when they aren't and Brent the Bartender makes you feel welcome. There's always plenty of selection off the menu (yes the panzerotti is great but deep fried), they have special hot and different sauce extras for for pizzas and bar grub items, and the servings are generous.
We like to go there at least once every three weeks. One of south Chatham's better pub and grub spots.

Sure enough when I got there the service, and the panzerotti was everything I remembered and loved!! My kids had a make your own pizza and LOVED it the idea is great!! Excellent Pizza! Nice crisp crust, fresh, fresh ingredients! Wings were a little saucy for my taste, but the others thought they were fantastic. Service was fast, efficient and friendly.
