Wok's Taste Chinese Restaurant

We came here with friends about a year ago and partner remembers it as very delicious. I don't recall as well as her but I remember it was good enough. Came back this past weekend and I thought it was good once again but partner was less enthusiastic. She remembers the soft crab as being fabulously delectable and was a bit disappointed this time. The tea was very good. We'll go back when next in Guelph and the opportunity and time allows.

Best Chinese Food Ever

I have been going to Woks-Taste now for over 30 years. Although the generations have changed, and new faces serve the beautiful product, the food remains excellent. Amie is now in charge, and she goes out of her way to make everyone feel comfortable. Our whole family now enjoys special occassions at Woks, and we will continue to enjoy the food and the beautiful people here for years to come.

Overated Restaurant with some good sparks

Went with roomate and split curry and fish and chips. The Fish batter was nice and cruchy however had no taste. The fish itself wasn't seasoned or the batter. The Curry was a little too spicy for me but had really good flavour and seasoning however the beef was like eating cardboard was grossly overcooked. The Guiness Chocolate Molton Cake was very good, didn't taste alot of Guiness not really sure if it's in there but a nice dessert.... would order that again. As well the coulis on the plate actually tasted like itense strawberry. Would go again but would stick with wings or something else...... The Fat Duck Ale is great as is the other beer they make.

When we moved to Guelph we had a very hard time finding good Chinese food until someone suggested Woks Taste thank God!

Has gone downhill after new mgmt

The place used to be my fav place for Chinese food. Price was cheap, food was excellent. Since the new management, food wasn't that great anymore. The guy that looks like a manager didn't know much about the food and lack service skills. Only good thing changed is now they have uniforms. Quite a disappointment from new management

the fried rice was not as good as i thought...

the fried rice was not as good as i thought. perhaps if it had'nt been overcooked a bit it would have been top notch. hoewever, it was not a bad time there. the servers were friendly and everyone else seemed to be enjoying the food. so it could have been just a bad break. definatly worth giving it another shot. it will be a while before i do though.

The food was not as good as I thought based on these reviews. The service was just okay, maybe they thought I wouldn't tip them because I am only a teenager. All in all, I might go back again.

Been here a few times before and enjoyed it before, but they definitely slipped this time. The chicken was not freshly cooked -- seemed like it had been reheated. The chop suey was 90% sprouts with little bits of celery and about 5 small shrimp. I expect better anywhere, but definitely better here.

The service absolutely Woked my world; very friendly and the food arrived quickly. Our meal was awesome - the soup was great and had just enough spice. The fried pork with spices was the highlight though, the flavour exploded once it hit my tongue and the plethora of different spices stimulated my taste buds. This was our first visit and we will be coming back for sure.

went in with my young 3 year old son , food arrived in record time and delish , i have been going there since i have been pregnant with my 3 year old and i cna't get enough of it @! and i was overjoyed when they finally got delivery !!! cant wait to try the hot and sour soup

We ordered a delivery meal by phone, in late afternoon. Though we had no menu, phone staff was very patient and helpful. Delivery was fast, yet the food was perfection in its hot freshness, tender-crisp textures, and flavour. Light and savoury, tasty in all ways. Every aspect pleased our nervous, experienced palates, and we will dine at Woks and/or order from them again. Delicious!

we did takeout and the food was good. the packing leaked though so there was grease all over the bag. (gotta be careful in the car!) we didn't see the cashews in a separate bag stapled to the outside of the other bag (odd place to put it) until we finished our meal. the people working there were really nice.

Some of the best chinese food in the area. Called order in and drove to the restaurant. The food was ready when I arived and was hot and fresh when I got it home. Large portions on the hot & sour soup and def my favorite dish. I froze one of the containers and was still good when I ate it a week later. Will definitely order again

I've heard the food was fabulous here so I decided to try it. I thought it was pretty good, better than the other Chinese restaurants in Guelph. The dishes were not too greasy. The lemon sauce was good (not too sweet or too thick). The beef was good quality, at least it wasn't super chewy like other restaurants have sometimes.

This was the worst food we ever ate. The sweet and sour sauce was like red water. The chicken balls were over cooked. the ribs were swimming in fat. Both of the rices were mushy. We had to pay a delivery charge for our meal and it was disgusting.

best hot and sour soup that i've ever had...usually when we go to chinese restaurants i try and order that to see if anyone's can top woks..none have to date. the fried rice is good, but seemed overloaded with bean sprouts. other than that, phenomenal chinese food!

food was delish. huge servings for no money! i basically got 2 meals (leftovers) for $8, so very affordable. service was a bit slow and they didnt ask us if we were ready to pay until 20 minutes after we finished eating. friendly though. would definately go again if in the area.

Best Chinese Food I've ever had! I've lived in China for 9 years so I know what real chinese food is like. Great friendly service, can't find any better in Guelph. Family run restuarant so it feels really relaxing inside. The price is good too. Pay for the quality of the foods, great fresh vegetables!
