Really tasty food, I go there all the time, and the atmosphere and food is amazing!! The workers are also really nice. I highly recommend. Best in Hamilton!!!
Nice small joint for great samosas.
Been going to Mahal since their buffet days. So for years. They are by a long shot, the best you will find in Ontario, maybe even Canada. Go, and enjoy!
Great food, good service. I've been ordering there 2-3 times a month for over a year now and I must say they are pretty good there. Facilities are very clean, Owner/staff are very nice (some don't seem to speak english but will still smile at you if you greet them). I felt like I've built a relationship with this place which is great. Service can be slow during peak times, but other than that I can't complain. Would and have recommended this place to anyone looking for some Indian cuisine.
very poor customer service I called them to place an order on phone and the person on the other side was very ill behaved he didn't want to take my order and told me the food was a month old in his fridge very disappointed never want to go there
No options whatsoever for vegans. Server never even offered to modify any dish which is not very hard to do. Horrible service and wait time. Last time ever in this place.
I'm writing this review about 4 months after my second (and last) visit to this place. The first time i went was in the summer of 2010. I went late and ordered take out. Had Chicken Tikka Masala extra spicy. Food was decent. The service was adequate. The second time i went, the service was ridiculous. Once again, i came around 10:30pm. I happened to arrive around the same time as an Indian family/party of about 8 or 9. I ordered Butter Chicken and Pulao Rice shortly after they made their order. Now, they got their dinner, had dinner, had enough time to socialize afterwards, and then left. And guess what? I was still waiting for my food to arrive! It should not take almost an hour! There was no apology either! There wasn't anyone else in the restaurant besides me and this family. During that whole time, they didn't even ask if i needed a drink or even just touched base with me on how it's going in the kitchen with my food. I'm a Korean guy who loves Indian food (even if it's mediocre), but i will NEVER go here again.
I love this restaurant! I don't go often, but I have gone here at least 4 times. I am going to go there next Tuesday because it's my birthday and I have decided that I will go there to celebrate. I am very excited for that. I love there butter chicken and kema nan. I always have to order that when I go. I wanna eat biryani when I go there too. I am very excited for that!!
This restaurant is in downtown Hamilton. The crowd outside was pretty rough. The restaurant itself is clean and nicely-decorated. I went for the lunch buffet, which was reasonably priced. The service was pleasant but a little slow. The food had pretty good flavour. The meat dishes tended to be extremely runny, and the meat was kind of sparse during the lunch hour rush. I did love the tandoori chicken. Pretty good for the area, but not the best I have had by a long shot.
Mahal is the fast food equivalent of Indian cuisine. Poor quality food, worst butter chicken & tandoori chicken I've ever had, very poor & small selection. Parking is also an issue, you used to be able to get free parking in the back but no longer.
There was so much food... I have enough left for another dinner. I ordered off the menu as I am restricted to certain items and the staff was very friendly and helpful in helping make a selection as I do not regularly indulge in Indian cuisine. Service was great and I was in and out in not time even though I was there at lunch and ordered a la carte. I think this is a great restaurant and definitely one I look forward to trying again.

Amazing food. But, need to lower the delivery charges. Delivery charges are too expensive.
FIRST OF ALL A PIECE OF INFO ITS A PAKISTANI OWNED AND RUN RESTAURANT,FOOD IS BASICALLY THE SAME IN BOTH INDIA AND PAKISTAN BECAUSE THESE DISHES WERE BROUGHT TO INDIA BY MUSLIM MOGUL EMPERORS WHO INTRODUCED EXOTIC SPICES TO THE INDIAN SUBCONTINENT,SINCE MOSTLY PEOPLE RECOGNIZE INDIAN CUSINE MANY PAKISTANI RESTAURANTEURS USE INDAIN CUSINE NAME,THIS RESTAURANT FOOD IS NICE,BUT WHEN BUFFET COMES TO MIND FOR PAKISTANI PEOPLE ITS THOUGHT TO BE AT LEAST 100 DISHES LINED UP,BCAUSE THATS THE WAY IT IS IN KARACHI PAKISTAN.

This the most amazing indian restaurant. The food is awesome. We have had both the buffet lunch and ordered from the menu. I have also ordered take-out. Friendly service pleasant atmosphere. I would recommend this restaurant to those who have not experienced indian cuisine and to those who are well seasoned. You will love it!
Party of 3 all had the lunch buffet, which was well worth the $9.95. Large variety of main dishes. Dessert and salad portion of buffet paled in comparison. However the main dishes were hot, (as opposed to a lot of buffets which are luke warm) excellent in taste, refreshed often. Highly recommend to anyone. We arrived for an early lunch (first time visit) the place was empty, but by the time we left, there was a definite crowd 26-40.
This restaurant is amazing during the buffet hours. The food is excellent and worth the wait (if necessary). I visit this place on a regular basis and have never been dissapointed. Defenitely a place to be if you like good food.
