I have to say this is a restaurant that tries really hard! My first question is why the vast amount of workers in this building do no attend Tommys to eat. The owner should find out and address their concerns! Has potential. But try or you will fail!
We were in town for a hockey tournament staying close by, walked to the restaurant and were completely thrown, a large bar area filled with bar flies, loud and obnoxious, waiteress that look like hookers or strippers?? not sure maybe both. The place looks like it had not been updated since 1980?? Now we are stuck, the kids were starving, no time to go to another restaurant so Sat at the back so we did not have to be exposed to the bar flies and the strippers, I mean waitresses hanging around the bar chatting with the regulars, saw one doing a shooter with them! Well the pizza was delicious, but OMG would never return to that place again, not a place for children
I find it ironic that the poster below Had experienced the same slow unforseen service. Well, our group of six was really disappointed in the slow turtle like service recieved. This only server on was also more interested in eating at the bar beside the cash register than serving our table and the group beside us! When we finally finished it took nearly fifteen minutes to get our bill. My wife went to the bar and noticed that she was outside smoking! GREAT PIZZA,NO SERVICE! The younger servers at night are more hungry for tips! Cheers
This old and tired restaurant lacks passion and definitely style. It feels like an old sub shop from the 80's. As for the service, we were not impressed! During lunch, the server/bar person was more worried about eating their lunch and smoking outside than serving our table. We were late to return to work because of the lack of service!
Tommy's Dining Lounge is one of the best kept secrets in Kanata. Their food is fresh, quantities large, and taste is amazing. Everything on the menu is great, but their steaks are probably best around. I love steak, and have had it at many higher end restaurants, but they don't compare to overall taste, value and quality that Tommy's provides. In addition to the food, their staff are great. The service is efficient and friendly. The combination of food and service at Tommy's makes it the kind of place you want to repeatedly come back to.
For those who care about the QUALITY of food, this is the place to go. Tommy's is the only restaurant in Ottawa that I will eat meat at, superb quality at an amazingly fair price.
We order from Tommy's all the time and I will have to say we are never disappointed!! They have the best Pizza in Kanata!!!
My boyfriend and I went to Tommy's for dinner .they were a little busy.the waitress took our order fairly quickly,we loved the food,yes we'll visit again for sure.the owner was awesome,he's very funny and cute too.
There was only one person working the entire restaurant and bar, so perhaps that is why service was so slow. It took a long time to place my order, but, once placed, the food came fairly quickly. I waited for a refill on my coffee for a long time. Also, someone came in for take out and the waitress had to stop waiting tables to deal with that. The food was average, nothing special. Would recommend that they have at least 2 persons working the restaurant at all times, it is not fair to the staff.
The filets were done to perfection & the best we've ever had (and we've had lots). The portions are very generous (I took half mine home) and there is nice plate presentation. The rolls are served warm (a bonus) and the homemade garlic butter is to die for. It's hard to know where to start when describing the staff--I met their delivery man as I was leaving the hotel we were staying at & it was obvious from his attitude & manner that he was very proud of where he worked. The waitresses & bar staff were very efficient & friendly. The whole evening was wonderful from start to finish especially when we had a chance to speak to the owner & chef, Amer. He has every right to be proud of Tommy's.

Roast beef was poor quality grocery store deli meat. Finger food platter was 1980's style, over cooked and small portion. Over priced. Nice new East Indian decor though.
I have attended this rest. Before, it is nice to see that they have freshened it up with some new d?cor. The portions have gotten smaller and this is disappointing. It is nice to see that the Owner/Manager is going to start doing Karaoke Tuesdays and Line Dancing Friday?s.
Very disappointed that after 45 - 50 minutes no food was placed at the table. Six to eight other customers came in after our party and ordered after ours and they were served and left and still we didn't get our food. Very disappointed but must advise that the waitress was good and very apologic. Will probably never go back to this establishment.
It took for every to get the food, 35 - 40 minutes and the place wasn't busy. We brought our concern up to the staff, they said that the kitchen was busy with take out. My advice - don't go here.
I had the Prime Rib. It must of been English style it was cut too thing and a small portion. My wife had the Lebaneze Boeboe sandwich.
