My friend and I happen to chance upon Critters Castle while on our way to PetValu. We ended up buying a roborovski hamster, hamster bedding, food and water bottle from here. They have a good selection of small animals' toys and cage accessories. The price is very reasonable and customer service here is great, the gentleman who was helping us was patient and allowed us to take our time in choosing our new pet hamster. Overall, a fantastic pet store!

I live in Ottawa and member of the Ottawa Bird Fancier Society, and have been dealing with Critters Castle for over 10 years and have always found the service to be excellent when buying birds and supplies from there. The owner has immense knowledge on especially birds and goes out of his way to get my orders for birds and supplies fulfilled. All round a pleasure dealing with him and always get communication in a timely manner. highly recommended for quality birds.

Poor Quality and extremely poor customer service

On Tuesday Sept 6 I went into Critters to buy a fish for my 9 year old son. I asked the young man there what kind of fish was the hardiest that they could sell me. He told me that the Beta fish (Chinese fighting fish) would be a good choice. I also told the woman at the cash that I was looking for a fish for my son because we had just lost a gold fish on the weekend and my son was very upset about it. She assured me that the Beat fish would be my best choice. I bought fish food for him. On Wednesday evening my son went to bed and I heard him start crying. The beta fish had died. When I called the store to explain this to them - the woman said to me - WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ME TO DO? We had the fish for one day. She accused me of not feeding him. He was still in the container that we bought him in. Over 4.00 they lost a customer. She hung up on me!
