love this place

Everytime I am in toronto downtown for an overnight stay I go out of my way to visit this restaurant for breakfast. The staff are friendly and the only complaint I have is that the breakfast served is too big. Everything served is high quality, attentive staff, portions are a bit large but it is a bright airy atmosphere and good quality food which brings us back every time we stay over in toronto.

Asked for an order of eggs, toast & homefries...

Asked for an order of eggs, toast & homefries (this combo was not on the menu). I recieved 1 piece of crust (the actual end of the loaf!) a heaping pile of eggs that had little bits of other peoples breakfast in it (ham, spinich & little pieces of hashbrowns), and hashbrowns that were so hard they almost broke my teeth (seriously). I ate my crust and a few bites of the eggs. The waitress (who was very nice), seeing that I hadn't really touched my food asked if everything was ok. I told her I had a problem with the eggs, that there was little bits of other peoples food in them, and that it turned me off. At that point, I really just wanted to pay my bill and be gone, but the manager came over and tried to explaine to me that the stuff floating in my eggs were herbs. HERBS! Since when is HAM a HERB!! Since when are HASHBROWNS HERBS! I felt insulted by someone standing over me telling me the ham that was supposed to be part of someone elses breakfast was a HERB. Give me a break Daybreak!

Not too bad!

Service can be slow at times but I do have to admit that they make a good eggs B ... the atmosphere is nothing impressive but a good people watching location with large bay windows. It's a bit pricer for the lack of atmosphere.

I've been to Daybreak many times, and I love it...

I've been to Daybreak many times, and I love it. The food is always good, the prices are reasonable, and the servings are very generous. The service is excellent. I can't think of a thing that I don't like, and I always enjoy coming here.

I love this place! We come a few times a month - we know we'll get great cooking with huge portions. Not cheap, but worth it, our company always appriciates it too.

Overall food cold! Was a take out order and forgot toast. Eggs well over-cooked. Breakfast was not edible. This restaurant has undergone a name change but should reconsider a Chef change as well as an update to the menu.
