Michael Crispel believes that everyone is deserving of sophistication and elegance, and that one shouldn’t be restricted by income or budget. The concept of Earth: A Salon by Michael Crispel, which opened in 2005, "was basically to create a really down-to-earth approach to doing a very high-end luxury service that embraces all walks of life,” says Michael.

He was uncomfortable with the idea of overpriced haircuts and styles, and yearned to make looking fabulous accessible to more people. “We’re a culture-based salon,” he says. “We create a culture where people are looking for stylists that are consistently educating themselves to offer the best in innovation, whether it’s through cut or colour or any of the services we offer. It’s also a culture that has a warmth to it that is very friendly and loving and understanding.”

The place is excellent from top to bottom. Cuts, colour, all of it. Michael is amazing and attentive and takes ownership for EVERYTHING that happens in his salon. Everyone there is awesome. He also took amazing care of my wife when she had cancer and for this we will be eternally grateful.

disappointing hair cut

the first time i went to earth salon, i got a great hair cut by michael. however, i went again a few months later and this time michael butchered my hair. he rushed through (whole wash, cut and style took less than 30 minutes) and didn't really take the time to see that my hair looked good. it really felt like he just wanted to get me out of there. i went back to get it adjusted because it looked so terrible. it's an improvement, but nowhere near as good as it looked the first time. needless to say, i'm not returning there again, and no longer trust him with my hair.
