Aquabatics paddling shop is best known for its specialization in white-water kayaking. Australia-born owner Simon Coward points out that young and old enjoy the sport. “It’s not all about death-defying waterfalls,” he says. “It’s an inclusive sport with something for everyone, and it’s better exercise than most people think.”

Simon has been paddling white water since 1995. In 2004, he came to the Canadian Rockies to guide raft trips on the Kicking Horse River. A few years later, he set up shop in Calgary, assuming ownership of kayak and canoe shop Aquabatics, one of Western Canada’s top spots for paddling gear, instruction, rentals and trips.
