The selection of products at Gourmet Gifts and Games is a bit eclectic. The shop sells everything from kitchenware to board games, but when you walk in, the first thing you’ll notice are the dragons. The store houses dozens of gorgeous, highly-detailed dragon statues. The owner, Mike Sheikh, says that the unique specialty happened as a bit of an accident. “I bought two huge dragon statues and thought, ‘Who is going to buy them?’” he says. They were gone within a week, so he ordered three more. The process repeated until he was ordering over a dozen statues at a time. “It’s amazing. I didn’t realize the response they'd get,” Mike says. He recalls one collector who owns over 130 statues.

But the store carries a lot more than dragons. There are board games from both the modern era, such as Settlers of Catan or Cards Against Humanity, as well as classics like Backgammon and Chess. A store specialty is their themed chess sets, offering diverse themes from football to Robin Hood. “I have chess sets from $5 to $500, and everything in between,” he says.

The store is also a dealer of Paderno, a high-end and high-quality cookware brand, as well as several specialty greeting card lines. There’s even a section with event gifts and plants for things like anniversaries and baptisms.

    What a selection of games chess and back gammon sets I was directed to this store by one of my friends and was able to do most of my Xmas shopping. Staff was courteous and very knowledge Mike
