    I have used this ...

    I have used this groomer for years for 3 long-haired, mostly large, dogs. I have been extremely pleased with my dogs & feel the staff are kind, competent, friendly & professional. Their charges are very fair.

    Money Grabbing

    After 11 years of having my sheltie groomed for an average cost of $45.00 today I paid close to $70.00 for the exact same service from Dog Gone Grooming and Boutique. I was told she required extra brushing (almost 45 mins) and that their rate allots for only 15 mins. In my experience with other groomers, 30-45 minutes of brushing a heavily coated dog is not that uncommon. Some breeds take more time than others. This is why I have her groomed. They also claimed she was matted? Once again in my 11 years experience matting has never been an issue for other groomers. I just cut them out myself! I was then told that they found "ONE live flea" on her and that they have a policy that requires them to automatically charge for an extra flea shampoo treatment so that their shop does not become infested. I have never heard of such a policy and I was not informed beforehand by the staff of this possible additional cost. I was not phoned when "the flea" was found and given any options as to I how might like to proceed. My dog has never had fleas. Is it not possible that this single living critter could have been picked up in their establishment? The groomers work was fair. I've had better for less. Most groomers keep her for 4 hours. They were done in 3. I felt like they took every opportunity that they could to grab a few extra bucks. I understand inflation is a burden for us all but don't insult your customers intelligence by pointing the finger at one little flea.
