In 2012, Long Live Cats and Dogs was founded by Alexis and Kristy, two close friends and pet lovers frustrated with the lack of all-natural pet food available in their neighbourhood.

“Alexis and I have always loved pets and we’ve always had pets, and we’ve also always been interested in natural food and preventative health care. One day, we were sitting around and Alexis needed to buy cat food and litter, but the nearest natural pet food store was two bus rides away. So we were complaining that our neighbourhood needed a pet store that stocks natural products… and, voila, the idea for Long Live Cats and Dogs was born,” explains Kristy.

Thanks to Kristy and Alexis, keeping your pets healthy in the Hastings-Sunrise area no longer requires a long commute. “The support we get from the community has been amazing. The fact that we’ve really solved a problem for so many pet owners in the neighbourhood is a very satisfying feeling.”

    Helpful and friendly staff. The store is cat-friendly and dog-friendly so you can bring your buddy inside with you. Solid selection of toys and high quality food. They sell cat harnesses. Prices are very reasonable. Overall a great locally owned business.
