Poor Service and NOT professional

I had the worst service ever and that is even before I sat down at Tropika on Cambie (Vancouver). I called at 430pm on Saturday, and asked for a reservation for 6pm. They did not have one, but was told that I can come for 530pm. He asked for my name and number which I gave. I called seven other people to meet us there. When I got there, they lost my reservation. The manager said he can not do anything without a name who took my reservation. I said that the person did not tell me their name. He thought that was hard to believe. Believe it or not, someone else called in when I was arguing with the manager, and he answered the phone by saying “Hi, this is Tropika, how can I help you?” He did not even say his name! The manager did not even tried to make things work. I said there is hardly anyone here, and he said he has reservations for 6pm. He said rudely, “If you can eat in 30 minutes, you can stay!” First, there food does not even come out that fast! Funny thing was, while my friends and I were outside trying to figure things out, within 20 minutes, there was hardly a soul in the restaurant! This is the second time that the service and professionalism of this restaurant has placed this restaurant in my bad books. I wish everyone would boycott this place because they truly do not know restaurant hospitality at all!

one of my favorite restaurants in Vancouver. I live in Toronto now and haven't found anything remotely comparable or even similar. Everything I've tried here has been great. Their satay melts in your mouth.
