House of China update
Saturday was a very busy day and we all voted for take out. House of China was the choice and we were not disappointed. The food was hot and great.

Well, I hate to say it, but the food at House of China has really gone down hill since we first started ordering from here. The staff and service are fantastic, which is probably the only reason I've continued to order from here - out of loyalty. But the last several months I found their food just doesn't taste 'right'. The rice, for instance, always has a very strong taste - as if it's been fried in old oil. Think it's time to start looking for a new Chinese restaurant.

Yuck! This food was dreadful. I have lived in Toronto most of my time in Canada and there is many a place in China Town that rocks - but China House is a disaster. Not a clean establishment and the food is dreadful. Chicken in a black bean sauce was bland and not much chicken either, far too much filler of onions and celery (rip off) and tasteless Chicken Chow Mein - we got low mein by mistake - very disappointing and too much filler of sprouts. Spring Rolls - dry we didn't even finish it. Hot and sour soup - too much thick flour, could stand a spoon up on it (dreadful array of flavours and mish mash of ingredients that resemble orange coloured wall paper paste with tofu). Sorry House of China but its a thumbs down for sure. I truly shake my head at the other good reviews of this place. Maybe we ordered on a off night - not sure but this place wouldn't even get a one star out of ten from us. Thankfully we found a fantastic new place that opened up and we are ordering from there. Sorry this place is complete rubbish - tasteless food.

Hungry one cold evening and went out to try out a long established take-out restaurant that has been in Ajax for ages. Never been here before so I order the usuals for Chinese takeout. Service was good and the food was served fast and hot which was perfect for the cold winter day. Perfect meal for one. Big portions. Overall it was good.

One of the better chinese take-outs in Pickering. We actually live in Whitby and order from this retaurant most often for Chinese (and it really doesn't take much longer)
