Horrible experience, waited half hour for drinks and walked out after 45 minutes due to food order not taken. Tried to speak with management about the service but were to busy. Which completed our horrible time wasted, will not return or have positive reviews.
We went in on a Monday....there were only 7 other tables that had people at them.....we were seated fairly quick in front of the fireplace (which is pretty close to the kitchen & servers have to walk past constantly)...we were handed menus and told someone'd be right with us...we chose what we wanted and sat...servers came past us to sing Happy Birthday at the table beside us...and we still sat....and sat...the kids were starving after sitting there 27 mins with no one takin our order even (yet servers hang around the door chattin)...so we get up, get our coats and THEN someone comes to our table--we said we were leaving....she then says "Let me get a manager for you"--who needed a "manager"?? all we needed was service--we ended up at another nearby restraunt that served us quickly and promptly.....BOO on you Moose--We'd of hated to see how we were treated on a busy nite.
I used to go here a lot, but since the management changed its gone downhill quickly. The managers are always glaring at tables and yelling at their servers! No way to run a business! My favorite server it turns out was fired for questioning the managers. I will not be going back, which is a shame because I liked the food a lot!

Food was very good, and very quick. Ordered some wing/rib combo thing and couldnt even finish it it was massive. Got some free garlic bread, dunno why but we werent gona argue. Place is cool, tacky but not to overdone, bar side is also nice, lots of tvs and such.
The 4 ribs I received were OK! The potatoes where not cooked and chunky with the skin mixed in. The quantity and quality of this meal was horrible for the price.
The meatloaf was not cooked and again no value for the price
Meat Loaf was pink in the middle (obviously uncooked)
and wasn't heated through.
Manager tried to tell us it was a sauce in the meat that was pink.
One previous time my childs hamburger came completely pink in the middle.
Worst Decaf coffee in the world - tastes like watered down regular coffee( I guess that could be considered Decaf).
Normally happy with the food and great service, BUT - 2 strikes and your out!!!

If you like eating meat looking at other meat hanging on the walls, then this is the place for you.
Decor like a hunting cabin. You can imagine the type of patron it attracts.
I'd like to see some hunter's heads on the wall too.

If you are incredibly hungry after a game...get the lumberjack platter. Three kinds of meat ("schnitzel", Ribs, and some wings), slaw, and your choice of potato...and to top it off a small "loaf" of their bread...nice and warm and soaked in garlic butter.
Only downsides...I've had better wings...and the place is insanely busy...in turn really loud...particularly when the families start to roll in...so time your visit accordingly.
The food was great, service was good the only issue was that it was freezing cold in there and everytime the front door was opened we were blasted with cold air. I asked at least 5 times to put the fireplace on but ended up eating with my coat on.
Not too bad, 4 adults, one 3 yr old, 3 yr olds food came in a pan with a sharp handle, very dangerous, the 3 yr olds burger had those little swords in it, also dangerous... I ordered potatoe skins, the larger ones were rock hard, the ceasar salad was good though. Waitress was a little stunned and didn't come back to ask us how everything was, we had to flag her down for more drinks. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals. Overall a little pricy for that type of family restaurant/food/service.
i have been to the moose in kitchener and my experience was much better there..the management in the barrie moose seemed fake nice and we overheard them giving our server heck when she was a great server as well all we heard all nite was someone screaming HANDS!!!! very annoying and obnoxious other hten that great food and service as usual

Food took too long for lunch, service was good, blinds on the windows should be cleaned, they were very disgusting (covered in food pieces). Some of the food was not fresh, some of the chicken was dried out and some lettuce was not at its best.

Well my husband & I have been going to the Moose for about 4 yrs or so. Since they've changed over the management the positive & always friendly staff have defiantly decreased. There are a few servers that are excellent but, the others are horrible, very slow & unfriendly. The food is always great....thats one of the reasons we love it there. It seems that the management treats the staff very poorly, always yelling from the kitchen "HANDS" which is very annoying.
