What impressed me the most with this restaurant...

What impressed me the most with this restaurant is how clean the place is! It was spotless! We were seated in the Tatami room which was also a very nice experience. The sushi was lovely. The fresh tender and fresh, the rice perfectly seasoned. Masamune is must for those in the west end.

Masamune is a great family run restaurant which I have been going to since they have opened in 1995. The food has always surpassed my expectations for what fresh Japanese food should taste like. Always artfully presented and good in portion size as well. I knew I was getting a bargin for the Chef Choice Sushi Dinner when I saw the extensive lengths the sushi chefs go to creating this peice of art. There was a nice selection of nigiri sushi ranging from fresh cuts of tuna to hamachi as well as a delicious tempura maki drizzled lightly with a spicy sauce. The sushi here never fails to dissapoint me. Truly the best sushi spot in the West end! They also have a killer Black Seseme Tempura Banana for desert which my wife and I love!

I'm a die hard tempura fan and for others like me...

I'm a die hard tempura fan and for others like me out there, you'll know what I mean! While most people think that tempura is merely 'deep fried' shrimps or vegetables, it is a cooking technique which requires much skill. The batter must be in right porportion to how long it is quickly dipped into the oil. With this being said, Masamune has the best Tempura. Thick and Juicy shrimps with just the right amount of crispy batter. Truly delicious! Other favorites include korean dishes such as the pork and kimchi stir fry!

I live far from Mississauga(downtown Toronto) but...

I live far from Mississauga(downtown Toronto) but I always always choose to go on long journeys to eat sushi at Masamune. After trying their sushi 10 years ago, my taste buds have been spoiled, and I haven't been able to find a better place. Highly recommended!
