Sat outside on th...

Sat outside on the patio, to a table closed to the fence. Got my clothes stained with rust from this metal fence, dirty and rusted all over. We asked the waitress how is this possible, she said this is a designer's idea! Never heard something more ridiculous! Didn't enjoy at all and never going back.

Do not fool yourself... there are HUNDREDS of Sushi joints out there, but I cannot get enough of the Red Scorpion Roll at Kabuki... Overpriced, but I am hooked... it's pretty bad when I take my girlfriend and the bill comes to $60! Welcome to Bayview Village I guess!

I'll admit this place is very, very overpriced...

I'll admit this place is very, very overpriced, but it does have great vegetarian sushi which is hard to find so I find myself (somewhat reluctantly) going back again and again. I'm sure if I did some research I could find an equally delicious sushi place for a more reasonable price. The fact that they charge for green tea is also ridiculous.

Surprised Still in Business - Dreadful Food

Does not deserve a rating of 1. Meal came in black box with four squares. In one square there was small amount of shredded cabbage and one piece of cold tasteless broccoli; in another square was some lettuce with french dressing; in another square was white rice and in the final square was the teriyaki chicken - pieces of chicken with orange sauce on it. The chicken was pre-cooked and microwaved (dry, tough and wet). The sauce was tasteless - looked like it was squeezed out of a bottle over the microwaved chicken. We added salty soy sauce to the chicken to give it some flavour. Miso soup was not bad (in small plastic bowl). I always wanted to try this restaurant, but noticed there never seemed to be very many people in the restaurant, now I know why. I'm surprised this restaurant is still here?

Good Food, Dated 90's Decor.

I would have to disagree with the previous post about the food. Personally i found it very acceptable and better than average. Therefore i'm willing to pay extra. However i would have to wholeheartedly agree with the others about the subpar service and outdated decor. Lifeless stale black granite adorns the entire restaurant with strange metal chairs. Was probably a big hit 10 years ago!

Have friends that have eaten at Kabuki and...

Have friends that have eaten at Kabuki and decided to try some take out. My order was apparently forgotten and i was made to wait for quite some time. No apologies were made. This is the reason for the low service score. Food was adequate but not better than cheaper alternatives for sushi.

The positives: cleanly but tacky environment...

The positives: cleanly but tacky environment. Clean washrooms. And now the negatives: Food used to be better/presentation. Apparently they switched chefs. Overpriced for the food. Price doesn't coincide with the service either (not rude however, somewhat incompetent). Expected more for bayview village.
