Disappointed

I was extremely disappointed with the food at The Stags Head. I ordered the clubhouse chicken sandwich with fries, a side of gravy and potato skins as an appetizer. There was nothing particularly wrong with my sandwich, it just lacked flavour. My fries smelt and tasted like dirty oil. The gravy was very watery. No consistency at all. The potato skins came loaded with green peppers, red peppers and onions. The peppers and onions were raw, but covered in semi-melted cheese. I informed the waitress of my dissatisfaction and she shrugged it off, she did however remove the gravy that I didn't eat from the bill (yay...). I will never order food from there again. Good drinks, horrible food.

Amazing service, wonderful karaoke, large portions of delicious food. Good layout with no crowding. Nice outdoor patio for warmer weather and a fine selection of drinks. Possibly my fave hangout.

We bought a restaurant voucher for $25 that gave us some free appetizers, 2 for one dinners, etc. The restaurant was trying to bring in more family business. I went there with my wife and baby. We were served immediately and greated and treated excellent. However when we ordered our food we made a point of saying that my wife is severely alergic to onions and to make sure that the quesadilla had none in it. Well, it came, she had a few bites, only to discover onions in the salsa that they put in it! We complained and the waitress was very appoligetic and removed it from our bill. It wasn't her fault it was the kitchen. Fortunately, I did not have to take her to the hospital and no symptoms of her alergy appeared. My meal was OK for the price. We decided to try this place once again and returned another day. This time we sat on the patio to enjoy the weather and downtown Oshawa (what a mistake). Again the waitress was very pleasant and took our orders. While waiting for our food, a commotion breaks out between a drunken patron and another guy that the waitress was sitting with. They start fighting, they are asked to leave and continue fighting on the sidewalk in front of us until one guy is passed out. It turns out that the guy that punched out the other guy was the waitress' boyfriend. It seems that all the efforts of this new owner arenot going to help this place until they #1 clean up the place (make it look more like a restaurant and less like a bar with all the beer banners everywhere and #2 screen who they allow to frequent the place.

I'm a semi-regular patron of this pub, originally for it's wonderful friendly staff. After that, the quality of their food, epecially for it's fairly low price, kept me coming back. The patronage is quite varied in almost every respect, so you can often find someone at the bar interesting to talk to if the waitress/barmaid isn't able to offer conversation.

Great place to watch a Leafs game on the big screen. Wings are 35?, huge and made to order. Surprised it's not busier.

This is a really great place for being in downtown oshawa ...i would recomend it to anyone that wants to eat in a nice pub...and kareoke is awesome on tuesdays
