I have ordered from Malt 'N Salt quite a few...

I have ordered from Malt 'N Salt quite a few times now and have really enjoyed their food and service. I usually order the cod and chips or haddock and chips special. The portions are sizable although the fish is sliced a little thin. The batter is not too thick and perfectly crispy, even after it's traveled home as a takeout order. The fries could use a little work, as they sometimes lack the thin, crisp shell and fluffy interior I look for in a chip. Maybe it's the type of potato they use. Their chips seem a little tough in comparison to my ideal. ;)

Best fries in the neighbourhood. (Tugsey's fries...

Best fries in the neighbourhood. (Tugsey's fries around the corner tastes marginally better but it's no where near the serving.) The fish has more batter than needs be. Still, the size is generous in serving and the fillet tastes better than any F&C around the area. The order taker is courteous and eager to please. No dining area.

The size of the haddock was larger than my hand. Batter was crisp and not overdone. A generous serving of fries, which are not as thick as other places. Friendly service. Seafood menu (shrimp, scallops, calm).

Excellent food! The fish is always fresh...

Excellent food! The fish is always fresh, whether it's the haddock or the halibut. The batter is not too heavy; it's light and crispy. The owners are very friendly and very generous when it comes to giving out tartar sauce!! Absolutely love it! We come here at least twice a month...at least.
