Katsura is tucked away in a separate, but connected, building right beside the main building of the Prince Hotel. The food here is very good but only slightly better than the cheaper places in the area. The teppanyaki tables are good. The sushi is fresh. The prices are high and the portions are not particularly large. So why would someone choose this place over its cheaper competitors? It's the decor and the service that makes this place stand out. From the moment you step in out of the snow, you are surrounded by tasteful Japanese decor. In the main dining area, the place is elegant, simple and to the point. We have been here two times for dinner. The atmosphere is good, but a bit tight space to sit. The service is great and fast. The portions were big and the deal it, that you get a complementary delicious set of eggplant dips with bread. The food we had was very tasty and good. I don't recall the menus we had, but I recall that we liked it. All in all a pretty good food with the nice idea of the free appetizers. Always good to just hop in for a good spontaneous dinner. My boyfriend had planned a surprise birthday party at Kamasutra. I showed up at the restaurant thinking I was in for a quiet dinner with him, but he had my friends & family waiting at the restaurant without my knowing. Service & the food was fantastic. Had dinner there on a Sunday night recently. I have walked by many times not realizing how nice the dining room was. There is a fun bar area up front that I noticed walking by , but I wasn't expecting such a nice room in back. Started with oysters, followed by a veal dish. I've been coming to Massey's for a long time. Lunches, dinners. The food has always been fresh, and tasty. The servers have always been nice and courteous. The portions are ridiculously large. Pastas, it's two meals. Steak on a kaiser, top with some A1 steak sauce, you're biting into some deliciousness. Their menu specials are usually really good. Just really a nice place to go eat at, at a price range that won't break the bank. Others have complained that they are busy. There's a reason for that. Cause the food is good! Lire plus
