Where's My Tip??

To be fair, I have had great service and food at the Barrie location. When we moved to the city, we thought we'd try this place. Food was good, however as we were preparing to leave and were paying the bill and getting our jackets on, the waitress said "Where's my tip??" We of course were going to tip, but just hadn't reached that stage. So fearful was she that she was not going to be tipped, she decided to ask like that. Classy. And we still tipped her. Mind you this was a few years ago, but enough to remains etched in my mind.

I have been eating here for about 2 years now and...

I have been eating here for about 2 years now and the service and food is on the decline. Our last time eating smoked salmon the salmon had gone bad and smelled like an old mop. And the owner/manager has become rude and abusive person who happens to be there all the time. More recently eating there, our bills were about 12 dollars each for lunch all you can eat sushi. Owner would not allow us to our bills as is with tip, rather wanted us to pay an even number like 15 or 20. I have no problems with giving a tip of 3 dollars on a 12 dollar meal but would rather not be forced into it as he was doing. We have never had to do this before. I was very displeased as he raised his voice in front of all the customers. Defininitely will not return there.

I have been there MANY times. It is a great all you can eat sushi place. Honestly, I am SO glad we found this little gem. Very good food! Always fresh. Always ALL you can eat! Yummy in my tummy! I will go back again and again and again and again!

The BEST Sushi in a town!

This is my favorite sushi place. I'm there everyday ( thankfully I work and live nearby). The previous review is not correct. There is no difference in quality between lunch (9.99+ taxes) and dinner (17.99+taxes) menu. They add just extra, more fancy rolls and sashimi. Since I'm there almost everyday I know their stuff very well and they know me. Guys work hard from 11 am to 11 pm, always nice to you, always bring what you order, never "forget" to bring something. And their rolls just amazing, I can't eat sushi anywhere else.

This was our first trip the Aji Sai on Bayview...

This was our first trip the Aji Sai on Bayview, although we have eaten at the same restaurant's Barrie location. As was true farther north, we were not disappointed! We ordered the dinner menu and enjoyed the rolls and sushi, including our favourites, the spider roll, crazy love roll and aji sai roll. The butter fish and salmon sushimi was fresh and cut in nice pieces, and my two hand rolls featured perfectly sticky rice. What sets Aji Sai apart is the wider selection of dishes. They make a terrific sesame chicken, fantastic crab cakes and wonderful cheese wontons -- things you might not be able to get from other AYCE sushi restaurants. There are also more than 30 rolls, so try a bunch of different stuff. We were served incredibly fast for our first order, but the second took quite a long time. I think, however, that it was done, and they just missed bringing it out to us. Staff was extremely courteous (and interested in how they stacked up against the Barrie restaurant!) and helpful, and they even left me a pitcher of ice water on the table! Take note, other restaurants! Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back -- our five-year-old commands it!
