I say maybe. Only because I live so close, and every now and again, you think a Greasy Spoon of a food establishment might change, and benefit the neighborhood, with good food, good service, and good times. Been checking them out now and again, and I am yet to be impressed. Especially when the food is delivered by SYSCO, frozen food, thaw cook and serve right down to the sauce...how can you get it wrong? Sad that this is what represents Pub Cuisine in the Beach. Very Sad.

Great Pub Food!

This is some of the best Pub food I have had in a very long time! We ate on the roof top patio. I do not recomend this for anyone not in good shape because it is a long hike up. I was huffing and puffing by the time we got up there! The drink options are limited up there and I recommend getting bottled beer as by the time the draft travels 4 stories up the pipes it is a little flat and warm. But on the other floors there are full service bars if this is an issue for you. Our waiters were very nice and attentive. The food arrived promptly. Considering some poor guy had to carry it up 4 stories, it was still a good temperature. I was expecting it to be a little cool but it was perfect. The food was all fresh and look lovely! I am going back next weekend to try some of the other menu items. But will be staying on the ground floor. I am too old for all those stairs!!

Our group of four had a less than ideal...

Our group of four had a less than ideal experience at Murphy's. It was very disappointing, as the place has such a great location and could likely attract many diners, although not for repeat business, in my opinion. My "Greek" chicken salad had about one tablespoon of feta cheese on it (not an exaggeration), and NO kalamata olives...I mean if I wanted a house salad, I would have ordered that. The salad was too costly for what I got. My friend ordered fish & chips, of which the pub was out of. Okay, fine, that kind of stuff happens. But the worst part was that the waitress seemed put out by every request or question posed to her. She responded with a blank stare and a delayed reaction. Maybe we got this place on a bad day, but I still would never return to this restaurant

Found on the corner of Queen St. E. and Kingston...

Found on the corner of Queen St. E. and Kingston Road in The Beach, this is an above average quality pub. Patio out front, main floor bar, dungeon basement, quiet upstairs, and a rooftop patio as well. The Fish & Chips are really well done, the batter is perfect, not the doughy mess that other lower quality establishments tend to have. The fish is served wrapped in newspaper. Tasty french fries and excellent coleslaw as well. Perfect with a pint of Guinness. Service is good, never had a problem.
