Sushi is something that is easy to binge on – and sometimes you want to devour your pile of sashimi and nigiri from the comfort of your couch, away from judging eyes. In these moments, delivery is your best option. These sushi spots deliver some of the tastiest sushi you can find in landlocked Edmonton.

Maki Maki Japanese & Vietnamese Restaurant

1
8109 101 St NW, Edmonton AB T6E 3Y9

This Japanese and Vietnamese restaurant, located just off Whyte Avenue, offers delivery online. They serve up massive boats of sashimi, along with tempura and nigiri. But, as the name implies, it is their maki that is the star here. They have a crazy amount of variety, from shrimp tempura with barbecued eel and spicy sauce (the Volcano roll) to spicy yellowtail with cucumber and green onion (the Mellow Yellow roll).

Mikado

2
10350 109 St NW, Edmonton AB T5J 4X9

The original Japanese restaurant in Edmonton, Mikado serves up fresh, tasty sashimi and sushi in large portions. The quality is always stellar, and the service is always lovely. But, when you don’t feel like dealing with people judging you for eating an entire boatload of sashimi by yourself, order delivery through a reliable online website. The delivery person never has to know that the mango tango roll (eel, cucumber, red pepper, mango and avocado), Red Rose roll (red tuna, eel and avocado) and deluxe sashimi combo (eight kinds of fresh sashimi) is all for you.

Shogun Japanese Restaurant

3
10125 121 St NW, Edmonton AB T5N 3W9

Located downtown, this beautiful Japanese restaurant is adorned with paper lanterns and water features. But, it is their sushi that stands out, and that means you can enjoy the best of what Shogun has to offer without leaving your home. They offer delivery through an easy-to-use online service, so you can splurge on sea bass, octopus or yellowtail sushi, then devour some inside-out rolls, such as the spider maki (soft shell crab deep-fried with ebiko).

Furusato Japanese Restaurant

4
10012 82 Ave NW, Edmonton AB T6E 1Z3

This long-time staple of Whyte Avenue dining offers classic Japanese cuisine, including outstanding sushi. They offer delivery online, so you can get your fix of tuna sashimi and California rolls in the evening without stepping foot outdoors. Their maki rolls are quite creative, with delightful treats such as the deep-fried yam maki. Plus, their special rolls list is longer than your right arm, so there is plenty to choose from.

Oranj Sushi Bar

5
1648-8882 170 Street NW, Edmonton AB T5T 4M2

Located inside West Edmonton Mall, this cozy sushi bar is one of my favourite spots to grab some salmon sashimi and an avocado roll. But, I tend to only eat there when I’m already at the mall shopping. Thankfully, customers are no longer limited by location – Oranj now offers delivery. The sashimi is very high quality, and the rolls are massive – the Philadelphia roll (cream cheese, smoked salmon, avocado and cucumber) is always a solid bet.

Zen Shabu Shabu Sushi & Grill

6
10518 101 St NW, Edmonton AB T5H 2R8

For something fun and different, try the Mexican roll (spicy salmon and tuna, avocado, green onion, tempura flakes and salsa) or the rainbow roll (avocado, salmon, tuna, red snapper and cantaloupe). Of course, you can’t go wrong with their namesake roll, which contains salmon, tuna, crabmeat, cantaloupe, avocado and tobiko. The restaurant also offers many kinds of sushi, sashimi and temaki. You can get your fill of yummy sushi from Zen through Skip the Dishes.

Miso Japanese Cuisine

7
14917 Stony Plain Rd NW, Edmonton AB T5P 4W1

Miso offers delivery on orders of $50 or more, within 15 kilometres of the restaurant (located on Stony Plain Road at the Jasper Gates Shopping Centre). The menu includes a lot of cool maki creations, such as the Kobe maki, which is striploin seared blue rare combined with onions, or the volcano maki, which consists of half-cooked salmon, cucumbers, crabmeat and spicy tuna. They also serve some classic rolls, including avocado, salmon and cucumber.

Volcano Restaurant

With more than 40 rolls, Volcano Restaurant has a strong maki menu. It includes interesting combinations, such as papaya, cream cheese, smoked salmon and almonds (the Nut’s So Crazy roll) and asparagus, cooked prawns and avocado (the Eskimo roll). They also serve up sashimi from their sushi bar, including red tuna ahi, octopus, scallop, yellowtail, red snapper and tuna belly.

JL Pets Inc

8
7904 104 St Nw, Edmonton AB T6E 4C8

This sushi spot has some great deals, including combos for $18 and $25. These combos include a fantastic mix of different kinds of sushi, perfect for anyone who likes variety or can’t make up their mind about what to order. The roll menu is a mix of classic and creative ingredient mashups, including a roll with bacon and cucumber, a Grand Canyon roll with crab meat, tempura shrimp, unagi, shitake, honey mustard sauce and spicy mayo, and a hockey puck roll, which is an extra large, deep fried roll with crab meat and spicy tuna tucked inside.
