Last week we had to organize a sudden meeting for our project with US clients. Due to lack of time we missed out planning for lunch but thanks to my ‘Opentable’ app Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Chicken Parmigianino, Spring Lamb with red wine that I found Carmelina Restaurant in Woodbine Avenue. Their event catering service for lunch & evening snacks made me & my team proud on my decision. I wonder how I missed looking this food place for last many years. Thank you Abbas for your cooperation & on-time food catering service with delicious Italian food as our guests loved it. Looking forward to visit the place personally and relish all again the Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Chicken Parmigianino, Spring Lamb with red wine. Lire plus

We did read a lot of reviews about the David Duncan House and were a bit skeptical about dining here last week, We had some friends in from out of town and decided to come here for dinner,We did however drop by one afternoon and looked around and picked up a menu, We had a reservation for 6.30 pm, got seated in the lower level,nice round table in the corner, The servers were yes a bit old school but very kind and did answer all our questions.Ordered some cocktails and got some galic bread,pickles and cottage cheese, We started of with a caeser for 4 that was prepared table side, All I can say is that is was to die for,Crispy romaine rich thick salad dressing made from the scratch. Main dishes were Rack of lamb,Filet mignon,Dover sole,and Prime Rib,We also had a bottle of red shiraz that the server recommended for 39.95 that was a great complimant to our meals,I myself had the Dover sole and my wife the filet, All of our meals were very good, The vegetables were ok a bit bland,the baked and mashed potatos were good, The servers were around when needed and did look after us through our evening, We did not have any dessert just some coffee and tea, Our friends have beev raving about this place to all there friends and made it a point to tell us when ever they visit us we will be going to the David Duncan House , In my opinion the reataurant was great, Not over priced a good meal and experienced servers, It is a dining room from the past era that has been around for a long time so I guess they are donig something right, My wife and I will be visiting again soon as we enjoyed our eveing with our friends, Lire plus

Made a reservation online, probably a good idea, heard it was a busy spot. We were late for our reservation but they honored it. And it was packed. I had the special, can't remember the type of beef but it was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had, and the poutine was also amazing. My girl had the turkey burger and sweet potato fries and she loved it. We also had the Pickle Fries (good) as a starter and two pints of beer, bill with tip was around $80. Mars uptown is a classic diner with a twist -- it's got a fun mars / space theme to the decorum, and overall it's well kept, clean, and above average of what you can expect from the traditional greasy spoon type diner. I ordered the traditional eggs benedict which came, as excpected, with two poached eggs, on english muffins, and peameal bacon, with some potatoes and a slice of orange. Overall the presentation was good for a diner. The orange was sliced in twist and nicely displayed, the eggs benny were artistically smothered in hollandaise, and the potatoes looked greasily tastilicious. So how was it? Well those benny fans among us will know how difficult it is to achieve the perfect benny. This was not perfection, but was above average, decent in every way. I'm still on the search for Toronto's best eggs benedict, but if I had to go back to Mars and have another I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. So first of all the waitress asked how I wanted the eggs poached -- a good sign. If they don't ask you know you're in trouble. Unfortunately, even though I asked for medium poached I got one medium and one hard egg. Not a meal breaker, but still not so great. The hollandaise sauce was a little on the gelatinous side, but was flavorful, so I can forgive the consistency. It wasn't the best hollandaise I've had, but it certainly wasn't the worst either. The peameal bacon on the other hand was awesome. I'm actually not a big fan of the peameal (I prefer standard), but they did it right -- grilled to perfection, and the slice thickness was just right too. The english muffins were the standard affair -- toasted too lightly for my liking, but I don't get in a knot about the muffins unless something is terribly wrong. The potatoes looked and smelled amazing, unfortunately they failed to deliver the same oral "oomph" that they give upon the first visual inspection. Maybe more spices would do the trick, or add in some cheese. They were fine though, it's not like I didn't eat them, I just wasn't wowed by them. As for the service, nothing to complain about. The service was actually quite good considering the diner type atmosphere. Warm, friendly, adequate in speed. So, to summarize, Mars is a decent diner with decent food at good prices. I wouldn't hesitate to go back if someone else wanted to go or I was hungry and passing by, but I'm definitely still on the search for a really killer benny in Toronto. Lire plus

We've been to the Granite Brewery a number of times as the food is always fantastic with generous portions. In addition to the delicious food, they have a good selection of their own brews. We especially enjoyed their Ringwood, a delightful blonde. There are different atmospheres for different tastes, but at the Granite Brewery they have several to choose from. Two excellent patios, a bar, and a family restaurant area, all designed for comfort. The rear patio looks particularly amazing, but as it was raining, we'll just have to wait until next time to try it out. It should also be noted that the Granite Brewery has free parking with easy access. The Granite Brewery gets our highest recommendation and we will be back soon. Lire plus

Definitely the best bar / restaurant in the area. Great Patio in the back and very cozy atmosphere inside. This is a designated heritage building and there are old pictures of the area on the walls which is a nice touch. The food is great and it's a mix of Italian, Mexican, American. What I like most is the open kitchen. The food is prepped in the open! It's a refreshing change from almost all other restaurants that prep food behind closed doors (makes you wonder what's really crawling in the kitchen). The Bar has good selection on tap and there is a comfortable lounging area in the back by the fireplace as well. If you are looking for something in this area, I would definitely recommend going here. Lire plus

Seriously, best restaurant i have been to! Donatello on Elm in Toronto - the service was sooo good - made very special by our knowlwedgable server! The food - sublime! I highly recommend it! This was a sigularly phenomenal experience. All of our food was lick-your-plate excellent. I love their investment in local food producers. Their housemade breads, butters, pastas totally show it. We also were treated to a random complimentary amuse-bouche of a pork terrine with caramelized onions on crostini. Vanilla creme brulee was the single best creme brulee I've ever had--PERFECTLY burnt sugar. Truly amazing prices for food this good. ONLY down thought? Cocktails are expensive and taste like actual booze. Given that I'm normally a fruity liqour drinker, they were hard drinks to swallow! A connaisseur might feel differently. Great Italian Restaurant! My mom, aunt and I had spent all day shopping for a mother of the bride dress, so this place was recommended to us by the owner of a bridal store. The decor of Fusaro's is very nice and modern, and the atmosphere is relaxing. I ordered the breakfast wrap which was the best I have ever had! My aunt had the calabrese, and my mom ordered cinque panini, and they both thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The prices are very inexpensive. Three meals and coffee for each us came to only $30. I would absolutely return to this restaurant, it was unbelievable! Lire plus

I love beer and I love a long list of options recited to me by memory... there seem to be so many negative reviews about the Bier Markt but... it's a pub, really, and a spacious, respectable one with Great Beer at that. I was at the Esplanade location last Friday afternoon around 4pm with my husband and some friends and we had a fantastic time drinking pints of Steigl, Erdinger weissbrau, Jupiler, and sharing fondue--wish there was a ski hill nearby. I've been here often, mainly for the beer, but last Friday the atmosphere was great, really quiet and just right for a late lunch. I wish the decor was a little cozier inside. Lire plus
