Let me start off by first saying the portions are generous and the food is delicious (especially the general tao chicken which is the perfect amount of spicy and sweet). The service was great and made sure we were enjoying our meal. As a resident of Aurora, I (like the previous reviewer) used to need to go south to either Richmond Hill or Markham before I get a taste of authentic Chinese food but now that I have discovered a local gem I am highly impressed. I was disappointed to read the previous reviews on this page because the restaurant deserves so much more. The food is always so fresh, colourful and delicious. In terms of price and quality it can't be beat. i suggest you try it for yourself. It is one of my absolute favourite restaurants. Mei Ling has been around since we moved to Aurora 26 years ago and the food is always consistent (Great) their Chilli Squid is one of their specialty and it is to die for. Mei Ling is our only choice my family loves it. The people who own it are wonderful too always polite curtious and always making sure that their customers are happy. I went the other day with a couple of friends and I have to say it was a nice cozy place to spend the day with a couple of friends. The sushi was tasty, the service was great. They were so polite and friendly. To the person below, this is Canada. Not Japan or anywhere else in Asia, where their specialties are Asian food. Also didn't help the fact you had high expectations going in which could have affected your overall impression. "Worst sushi" is not something I would use for this restaurant. Ive been coming here since i moved a couple minutes down the street almost 10 years ago and i have yet to be disappointed! Serving sizes are huge, and are all under 10 dollars. All the food i have tried has been amazing and i highly recommend the sesame chicken and mostly the shanghai noodles. This is the Mandarin we always go to in our home town. The staff is always friendly, cleanliness of the restaurant is always excellent, and the food and desserts are always bountiful and fresh!
