We discovered this restaurant tonight and enjoyed a lovely evening. The decor is lovely and the tables give one a feeling of privacy. The service was excellent as was the food. Today was the first day I had been there in years, and things have changed... For the better :) I took my children there so they could see the streetcar like I did when I was younger. All of the staff was warm and welcoming, the streetcar was closed when I arrived but they overheard my childrens disappointment and opened the doors just for us. We were served promptly, and our food was ready in no time. Which I know for me is important when you take out your kids cause they can be soo impatient. My burger was cooked just the way I like it and my cheese was actually melted on which doesn't always happen in the fast food business. The onion rings were a little different than what I remember but they had a good combination of a crisp outside and a soft batter inside. My kids had more of my shake then I did but they seemed to love it lol. I will deffinately be goin back this summer on my way tothe cottage, it's so worth waiting for. Oh. Before I forget, parents be warned they don't have kids burgers, only nuggets which I thought were actually a great portion size. Oh and they're a cash only business they have an ATM, the only annoying thing about stopping in was the people in front of me in line didn't see the signs that clearly say cash only and held every one up. What a great night! I havent visited this pub in a while but Im glad I did again. Enjoyed a nice dinner with friends with great service and a fun atmosphere. I recognized the same staff from years ago when I last came by and happy to see theyre still there enjoying themselves. All were super helpful and knowledgeable about menu items/drinks. My gf has some food allergies, and they were able to tell us what she should not have etc as well gave us a gluten free menu. Im a big foodie lover (hence the name) and will definitely be back for the food. It was better then most pub fare Ive had. Thanks Filly and Firkin, see you soon Lire plus

I loved the food at Golden Bell. Newmarket has a lot of Thai restaurants and while most of them are good, I feel this one greatly stands out as the best. They have a very inexpensive lunch menu and a quaint dining room if you don't opt for take-out. The service is nothing spectacular as far as dining in goes but it is passable. The Jambalaya was supurb. First time eating a Jambalaya dish. Originally, it called for shrimp, But I subbed those for scallops. The had NO problems doing that. It was full of Chicken, scallops, spicey italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers and red onions in a creamy tomato sauce topped with a garnish of green onions.
