Really great place. I go all the time. It's really inexpensive and the staff treats me and everyone I go with very well. The sushi is always really good, and the menu has a lot of variety. I've never been disappointed. I enjoy sushi quite a bit, and I have been to every place in Barrie. This is by far the best.

Spider Roll My...

Soo... Where to start? Placed order and stuff started to arrive. No apps first though, just whatever they had, some microwaved others not quite thawed, Had to reorder stuff they forgot to bring. My favorite thing is the "spider roll" which is supposed to be soft shell crab wrapped in rice. When it came it was "pollock" (fake crab) which was all the same temp and "gooey" throughout. Nearly made me chuck. Go somewhere where they have proper "sushi". I have no idea how anyone goes there. Awful!

Great Food and Great Value

Great tasting food. Sushi is only third of their offering. The other two third is all really tasty cooked food! Great sashimi/sushi, tappenyaki, appetizers and rolls – that what I had! I did not get to try 30+% of their menu including UDON soups, tempura’s, noodles, rice dishes or deserts. I would recommend DIAMOND SUSHI on a heartbeat. Great value – Cnd $37 all-in with tip (1 all you can eat and 1 large sake + generous tip). I have tried one All-U-Can-Eat and one Regular Sushi place in Barrie – this one beats them hands down (no comparisons). Enjoy. -- DaCanadian

Looking around Barrie for a good spot - found one!

I live in between Waterloo and Barrie and have been to many all you can eat sushi restaurants in both cities, and this place as absolutely great in comparison to both cities. Every time I travel to Barrie I usually end up at a place with mediocre food and even more mediocre service. This place had great staff who were very friendly and helpful when it came to ordering, and who walked around every 2 minutes carrying water and tea to refill drinks with. They were also willing to take our order again regardless of our original waitress which was great. I've also noticed a lot of places typically serve mostly vegetarian options for their lunch menu and really lack on any good seafood rolls, but this place was completely opposite as the menu was hugggee with actual sushi options. The food was wondeful as well - really fresh, great portions, and very fast. We ordered A LOT and were given all of it within 7 minutes max. The dynamic roll was great, as well as the spicy white tuna roll. Lots of veggys and lots of fish in it. Again, regardless of how many tables filled up, the food kept coming at a fast pace. A lot of restaurants also seem to do their maki rolls made of only fish, no veggies (e.g. spicy salmon roll would only be salmon and spicy sauce); whereas this place had avocado in all of the maki rolls we ordered. Really impressed. It became out #1 within minutes, and were definitely ONLY coming here. Something interesting to try -- the snow roll. It's packed with tempura shrimp, crab, salmon, avocado, spicy mayo, and wrapped in rice paper with sauce drizzled on top. It's a little slippery to pick up but yum!

I just tried this place last week, and was very impressed. We were in the neighborhood and just happened to see it, and figured we'd give it a try. I wasn't expecting much as we had never heard of it, but we were very pleasantly surprised. They have a very good menu, and everything we ordered was very tasty. The rolls are nice and small, with minimal rice, different from most places. I will definitely be going back.

When we got there, we gave an order and didn't receive any of it. We had another girl come to the table, and we ordered something else. It was brought to our table, tasted awesome. Then had to sit and wait for another girl to come, and placed another order, in which we ordered a few things. They didn't come. We place another order for one thing, and that came. Its like they are limiting the amount you order, so your get sick of waiting so long, and just leave.

Just So-So

I can't seem to find a good all you can eat sushi place in Barrie. This is the 3rd one I have tried and it doesn't seem to meet the standards of my regular place in Hamilton. The food was okay, pretty on par with other places in Barrie. The service was terrible. It was busy but the waitresses just seemed to hate stopping to take someone's order (deep sighs and rolling of eyes included in the price of your meal). It is for this reason that I would not return.

All Around Amazing!

I have been to many sushi places, and this place is by far the best one yet! The food, the service, the atmosphere... everything is great. Especially the presentation of the food - my goodness. I have never felt so welcomed in a restaurant, especially only having been twice. I definitely see myself going on a regular basis, considering it's one of few sushi restaurants with such a variety for an all-you-can-eat. It is also surprisingly affordable. You should totally check it out!

My girlfriewnd and I have been to many sushi places both here in Barrie, and in Toronto and anywhere else we can find a nice sushifest. Let me just go ahead and tell you that this place is spectacular in comparison to most. the staff is friendly. they are skillful in what they do as far as presentation ( loved it!). the food tastes amazing, and there is a great variety. this is a must visit! I will definitely be a regular here. A++

Quality food

Been here twice and twice it was really good. Lots of options, and all so good. I love that the sushi is not loaded with rice, the rolls are very well porportioned. Shrimp and vegies tempura and dynamic roll, is my favourite. Will definitely be back for sure.

A new contender for Barrie sushi lovers!

Diamond Sushi just opened a week or so ago, and while there are still a few kinks to work out, we will defiinitely be back. Our party of four (two adults, one child, one infant) was seated promptly and quickly received drinks and menus. We chose the AYCE option and made our first order. Unfortunately, we were served a number of items we had not ordered. This was straightened out and then the fun began. Our appetizers were top-notch. The dumplings are light, especially for being pan-fried, and my wife re-ordered on the scallops. The rolls were solid, not overly large and burdened by too much rice. The dynamic (dynamite elsewhere) was terrific, and the diamond house special roll was also a highlight. We also had very good tempura (especially the vegetables) and seafood fried noodles. My wife really enjoyed the Japanese shrimp (similar to garlic shrimp), although I found them to be a little soft. Plates were cleared quickly and drinks were constantly refreshed. I have already sent several people up the street from my store and we'll be back soon! JUST A NOTE: WE RETURNED A WEEK LATER TO LET OUR SON HAVE A CRACK AT THE NEW PLACE AND THE MENU ISSUES WERE FIXED AND THE FOOD WAS EVEN BETTER! AN IMPROMPTU SURVEY OF A FEW PATRONS CAME BACK ALL POSITIVE! GIVE THIS PLACE A SHOT!
