Over priced for average steak

This place is totally out of line with their prices. The meat is average, where do they get off charging the same price per oz as Morton's in Toronto/Chicago/New York? lets face it Morton's justifies their price with the best ever steak you'll ever have and they are located in exciting International Cosmopolitan cities, but Hess street in Hamilton? Time to get real and charge the right price for the value, also prepare the steaks as ordered. I ordered my filet mignon med-rare it was delivered near over done (a sin!), my dinner guest said that his steak was tasteless. To much hype around this place.

Exciting

Wow, what a change in Hess Village. This gem of a restaurant was a nice surprise. Gorgeous atmosphere, with the best steak I have had in a Long time. The place was lively and warm and made for a fabulous night out.

Wonderful Service and Great Food

My friend and I were out for dessert and cocktails in Hess Village. I am allergic to both chocolate and strawberries, so we needed to be very careful how we ordered. Before we were even seated, the hostess went into the kitchen and ensured that there was a dessert we could split. Once seated, the waitress recommended two excellent martinis and then invited us to the bar to watch then being made. She was extremely attentive and even so far as to ask the kitchen to forgo the normal chocolate drizzle on the plate. The creme brulee was awesome. I've never had one better. I would definately go again, and I recommend this place for people with dietary needs as they will do their best to accomidate you.

best steak in recent memory

Friends, some places can be ruined by bad wait staff, i.e my last time here but a waiter thats on point? all the difference. Calamari was perfect and fresh. Bread basket was a little weak it looked like odds and ends but the flavoured butters were good. I had ordered my entree before and found the topping extremely overpowering, so this time got them on the side what a difference. my filet was flawless and basically melted dipping my fork full of sterak in the sauce with a bit of blue cheese made all the difference. The mushrooms were fresh firm and flavorful, The Yam frites were delicious but too thin, hard to eat but i managed. brocolli was a little pale but cooked well. I left full and satisfied. Glass of red wine went well with the meal as well. I will go back
