We felt like fish & chips

It was Friday night and we felt like good old F & C. The servings were a reasonable size BUT the chips were re-cooked, or had been sitting out too long, and the fish pieces were thin. One of our party had her fish grilled without batter so I saw how small it really was. Overall it was quite disappointing and I won't be returning soon.

Visited the restaurant yesterday , found the owners very rude and arrogant. Can't beleive their still in business with this attitude as their food is not that great.

I ordered dinner from them yesterday, fish and chips order for two. They told me one price on the phone and when I arrived to pick up the order and paid, thye charged me a differnt price higher by $8 dollars. When I asked they told me that is how much it costs. Okay I went home and got to eating right away. The fish and chips were soggy, soft..still hot and soaked in oil. So I called them and told them and the girl on the phone responded as : you must have taken too long to eat your fish and we can'y do anyhtijng for you". I asked and told her we litterally live around the street from them and told her the time on the ticket which was 10 minutes from the time of order and she responded " we can't do anything for you". I told her I wil lnever eat their again and she did not even care. Please don't eat their as this is the treatment you will get, including really bad oil soaked fish and chips.

Halibut was very greasy. Chips were okay. Didn't like the service, guy was kind of rude. Place wasn't too busy but still had to wait a bit (don't know why?). After reading comment below I am disgusted.

Best Fish-n-chips in town

They just opened the new place in the same plaza. Food is great as usual, cooked to perfection. Lots of fish, reasonable breading (not too much). We've picked up fish and chip at least 10 times. Always great. Great service, friendly and quick too. I usually call ahead for pick up. It's about ready when I get there. Now that they have a larger diningroom, I'll have to eat in soon.

Service Issues

The owner needs some help here. For the company that posts this, you should post this one, and maybe the owner will realize that he needs some help. Very arrogant and rude. Long story short, he said a few profanities with my family there, and he directed them to us, because we ordered our food and sat down, instead of waiting to be seated. Ask his cook/waiter, he was very embarrassed and said this happens all the time.

Best fish and chips ever! Well worth the price, their portions are huge as well. One piece here is like equivalent to 2-3 pieces elsewhere. Quality is also top notch. Family that owns this spot is really friendly too, and very customer oriented. I love this place.

Best fish and chips i have ever eaten in my entire life. I am originaly from a township on the eastern part of Halifax and i would eat a lot of fish and chips but that does not even come close to how amazing Bluenose's fish and chips is. It is uncomparable. I think i may start to eat there every single day now.
