Recently ,we had a chance to have lunch at this Anjjappar and we have ordered different varieties,Veg and Non Veg, items like Chettinad Chicken Roast, Nattu Kozhi Roast, Katharikkai Kozhambu, Karahi Vegetable are so good. We strongly recommend the Non Vegetarians to visit this place.
If you want to taste the chettinad food in toronto no other place better than Anjappar Chettinad. I have visited several times and always feeling to visit next time, and never felt bored about the food. I would love to stay there for ever!!!
As I come from pure vegetarian family and I had never visited to anjappar, because this restaurant is very special for non-veg from the mouth of my friends. But recently visited to anjappar chettinad with my friends and we ordered only vegetarian for every one. Dishes like Poondu Kozhambu, Vegetable Kurma, Chilli Mushroom Dry(so hot, but nice) and Sambar was so good, I felt so comfortable and enjoyed lot. I said thanks to my friends and changed my mindset that anjappar is also good for vegetarian.
Anjappar is always favorite place for having some awesome Chettinad food and this restaurant serves the food from the taste of real chettinad. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasant good to hang out with family and friends.

Went for the weekend morning buffet with my friends finding the food to be delicious and the place was very clean. Although there wasn't much variety, the taste and aroma of the available variety made sure u get satisfied. Being Non-veg restaurant they also had quiet a variety for vegetarians too, great news!!. The food keeps telling us they are typical indian food, which is good and impressive as it is hard to bring the taste thousand miles away from the original chettinad restaurant.
The south Indian restaurant that was perfectly matching the taste of south India is absolutely Anjappar Chettinad Restaurant in Scarborough.
The taste of food was really impeccable. The crispy dosa, uttapam, were just amazing. Mutton keema Dosa was really extra ordinary in anjappar and no one else serves it. I will strongly recommend this for any one wants Dosa with meat.
The restaurant had specials on every day, the one I tasted was Thursday special, Naan with butter chicken for just $ 4.99. Unbelievable rates!

I have been to other Indian and south India restaurants in NJ, but this one truly has the authentic food, the aroma and the original taste. We did not try separate entities, but the thali was amazing. After a long time, the taste of soaked tamarind, garlic and saunf greeted the tongue. All Praise to God. Planning to attempt the buffet sometimes. The cons is that there were only two servers, no ghee was presented with the thali and very limited menu. Vegetarian entries had only poondu kuzhambu and kathirikkaai kuzhambu..I was remembering how much I know from chettinad menu. They can increase the varieties and cut down the cost still more. For south Indians, this one ROCKS!! For first time Indian meal explorers..not much to try your taste palettes on!!

It was by far the best South Indian Food I have had in both Canada and the States. The restaurant is a branch of a famous Chettinad restaurant chain in Chennai, South India. The taste is very similar to the flagship restaurant (eaten there as well). As a south Indian, I can say that Anjappar accurately represents authentic South Indian food. The food was unbelievable. There can not be a single complaint as far as the quality of the food. It tasted amazing and I recommended that you definitely try it.

Prices are so reasonable, we always order way too much (at least I have a good lunch the next day). Dinner for two of us has never been over $50 - with a couple of drinks each
The only negative comment I have is about bones, please make everything boneless.
What this restaurant lacks in atmosphere, it makes up with food and service. It's traditional South Indian which means it's authentically hot and that's what we enjoy. We've been about 8 times over the past 3 months, and haven't had a bad dish yet.
