Snobbish Staff

We both ordered Tempura Udon. The food was no doubt one of the best in Toronto with regards to quality and quantity. Server was okay and service was good. However the other guy behind the counter was snobbish. My friend called for the bill and signalled the guy. The guy just looked at my friend for a few seconds not showing any acknowledgement or emotion which made us think this was something. He just moved away from the counter and continued doing what he was doing. Our server came with the bill shortly and I asked if her colleague understood my friend. We then realized that the guy did understand my friend's request for the bill but he did not show a bit of reaction or acknowledgement. I consider that disrespectful. A little thing. We sat on the long sofa. It was comfortable but due to the depth of the sofa it was hard to sit down and get up considering it took so much space under the table.

Quality Quantity Reasonable Price

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED This place was just across the street from my office and I became a regular. This was a great place to bring my team for lunch or have a business lunch at a price I can stomach. The quality is one of the highest I've experienced in the GTA and the price won't make you flinch. They offer lunch and dinner specials. I've been here with just a couple people and with larger groups of as many as 10 people and the service has been consistently good. At one point I was going here so often, they recognized me and offered up complimentary appetizers whenever we were there. A colleague of mine wanted to have our order presented on their largest sushi boat and they accommodated for our amusement. I've even used them for takeout for working lunches. If you don't have an expense account, this is the place to get high quality downtown Toronto Japanese food without paying through the nose. The decor and ambiance is perfect for that special evening dinner as well. They have private rooms and booth seating.

The food was great, the atmosphere was so nice...

The food was great, the atmosphere was so nice. My only complaint was my water glass remined empty for a large part of the meal, which is very uncommon for an asian restaurant, but other then that the place was awesome.

We needed a fast but good quality workday lunch. This restaurant is fantastic for lunches - the atmosphere has an expensive feel to it yet the prices are reasonable, the service is fast and reliable, the lunch is filling, and the salmon is succulent - the kind that is thickly cut yet melts in your mouth. . . I have also had the zaru soba dish they offer and it's almost exactly like the ones they have in Japan, (too bad they don't include a quail egg with it though). The soba tastes exactly the way it does in Japan. I often bring friends here when we want to get away from fast food yet don't want to break the bank. And of course, there is something on the menu for everyone. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who appreciates authentic Japanese cuisine.

Soup was okay - I've had more flavourful...

Soup was okay - I've had more flavourful elsewhere. Salad was crisp and fresh with a very nice creamy dressing. Sushi was super fresh and very delicious. The party that I was with also commented on the freshness of their sushi (not vegetarian). Service was good. Ambience is crisp, clean and very contemporary japanese design. All-in-all an excellent restaurant and I would definitely go again!
