We were given instructions to pickup a load. We dispatched the truck which arrived at the shipper on time. The trucking company had to wait several hours just to be informed that the shipment will not be ready, and that it has been cancelled. We charged the customer $350 to cover the cost of sending the truck and waiting time charges to simply cover the basic cost. We did not even add any markup, yet client still insisted that they are not going to pay simply because they do not want to.
