I recently celebrated my birthday at a restaurant, and I must say the server was outstanding - knowledgeable, polite, and attentive. The rest of the staff were equally friendly. The food was excellent; we opted for the Dine-Out menu, and the recommended drinks paired perfectly. I'll definitely be returning for another visit. I also enjoyed a complimentary pastry, which was absolutely delightful.Lire plus

We have been taking our daughter to the zoo since she was a toddler and she still loves going today. Perennial Zoo members we take full advantage of our membership and often use the zoo as a last minute spot to go spend time as a family. We feel that the Greater Vancouver Zoo does a nice job of providing large habitats for the animals under their care as well as keeping them well cared for and entertained. The train is loads of fun and a good way for people with limited mobility to see a large portion of the zoo without having to walk the whole way...the engineer is also the narrator and has interesting little tidbits to tell about some of the animals. They also rent bicycles that fit four people (two pedaling and two riding) for those who still want to get a little exercise but make sure they don't miss anything. The only small criticism I have is around the amenities. The snack bar is a little plain and the bathrooms could use a little sprucing up. That said I would rather they invest as much of their budget as they can into the care of the animals. Visit the Greater Vancouver Zoo for a fun and interesting family experience!Lire plus
Okay, I realize that there are not a tonne of public, and for that matter private, courses in the city but you could easily include any of the courses in the 'burbs and still call this the best course. Fraserview was once considered for the PGA tour and would have been used had the city let them lengthen a couple of holes. Oh well, perhaps this keeps this gem of a course a little less busy. Perched high up from the Fraser River you would never know you are smack dab in the middle of a major residential area of the city of Vancouver. Challenging and beautiful this course has another major thing going for it...the green fees. They are so reasonable it is shocking and particularly if you are playing with a junior the rates are very reasonable. The clubhouse is also excellent and offers a wide variety of food and drinks that you can enjoy on the patio while watching players come home on 18...for my money the most challenging hole on the course...but that may be because I lose a ball in the ravine every time I play there! If you are a golfer you HAVE to play Fraserview.Lire plus
A few weeks ago I found a new bookstore on lougheed highway beside the smile Thai restaurant.
I went in looking for two specific sets of books. Both of these sets have been difficult for me to collect. so he pulls half the books off the shelves for me and a week later; he lets me know he has found the rest for me.
I love my other two regular stores, but was thrilled to have my work completed for me.
They have a great feel to the store and have an awesome detox tea in their collection. it's worth going in just to smell the different tea blends.
If you turn at benjamin moore paints and drive behind to the end you will see a litte yellow building and that is your destination. Good parking off the lougheed.
Enjoy.Lire plus
