Svitlana Dresses

When my wedding dress arrived, it was one size too small. The bridal shop stated the sample dress I tried on stretched from customers trying it on!!!! I then went to Svitlana and she did an amazing job of altering my dress. The bodice had to be let out and the beadwork taken off and put back on. You would never know it had been altered. She is reasonable and very personable. I would highly recommend her for any custom work or alterations needed. Will not go anywhere else. Marlene N.

Ordered custom vests for my wedding in January to be done by august its a week away and still not done!!!!

Had a two cocktail custom made! The most beautiful dresses ever! I had them months before my daye and the quality and price were worth it! Currently having her alter my wedding dress, post more on its completion!

Absolutely wonderful dress and customer service! I had to find a cocktail dress last second for a formal Christmas party as my previous one no longer fit. When I came in, the girls helped pull dresses in my size and found a variety of styles that we suitable for my occasion. Svitlana was extremely helpful and rushed the alterations on my dress making it fit as if it was personally made for me by adding cups, fixing the strap and taking in the sides. I received many compliments and love my dress. I will recommend Svitlana Dresses to everyone as they are extremely helpful, did an amazing job on the alterations and were fair priced. Not worth the wait

Poor customer service, time management, and business management. My original 4 dress fittings turned into 7 because Svitlana did not complete things on time. I often waited from half hour to two hours as there was a long line up of people who were waiting. While I was waiting, I heard the sound of her sewing machine. It was obvious that she was working on my dress while I was waiting. I received my dress the day before the wedding - the dress was not excellent - the finish was only okay. I will need to return to another dress maker to finish the dress the way it should be. Svitlana told me that one of her sewers quit unexpectedly, so that is why things in her business is backed up. Still, it is obvious that she personally needs to work on time management.

Absolutely awful!

Everything about my experience with Svitlana was terrible. Appointments were cancelled or delayed every single time. Throughout the year I spent dealing with her I bet I went to at least 10 fittings for myself. That's not including my bridesmaids. She could never get the size Right and blamed me for gaining or losing weight, even though I never did. 6 days before my wedding we were supposed to pick up the bridesmaids dresses when we discovered she'd been putting the same dress on two of my bridesmaids. It was absolutely the worst experience of my life and I hope no one else ever has to deal with her.

Worst Experience Ever

I only wish I had checked the reputation of this business before getting involved. I had a custom dress made for my daughters wedding and it was the most frustrating experience ever. This woman has no business sense what so ever. She will take on all business that walks in the door even though she doesn't have the time to manage the work she has on the go. She has no respect for her customers. She was never ready for the fittings. I wasted my time more than once going in for a scheduled fitting when nothing further had been done since our last fitting. She had an excuse for everything even going so far as to tell me the dress didn't fit because I had lost weight (I hadn't). Another time she asked me to call her in two days to schedule the next fitting. When I called she didn't answer her phone and didn't return my calls. It took over a week to connect with her and her excuse was that her answering machine wasn't working. This woman never took responsiblity for anything. The finished product was very poorly done. She put a brown zipper in the purple dress, explaining that it was the best match possible, and the seams on the lace dress were left raw (no french seams or finishing of any kind). It was definitely thrown together with no care or attention. Stay away!

Awesome

I don't understand these bad reviews because I had an AWESOME experience here. Svitlana was able to customize a grad dress I purchased from her to be exactly what I had been looking for. She added straps to the strapless dress that looked like they belonged there and shortened the front but left the back long - a style that I had a really hard time finding. My dress turned out perfect, I stayed within my budget, and I picked it up the day of my grad so I wouldnt have to worry about it getting wrinkled or worse, my dog wrecking it, before my graduation. Svitlana is super nice, funny, and very honest. She does great work and I definitely plan on seeing her again for a totally custom dress!

Wonderful experience

I was having a very difficult time finding a grad dress that I really loved. I shopped around quite a bit before I stumbled upon Svitlana's shop. After trying on a few dresses with her staff, Svitlana mentioned that she would be able to turn an almost perfect dress I had found into exactly what I wanted. She was able to add straps to the strapless dress I had selected that matched perfectly and cut the front short and the back long - a style I had had a really hard time finding in stores. The end result was perfect..just what I had been looking for for the past few months. I picked it up the morning of my grad and it was steamed out and waiting for me when I arrived. The overall cost was reasonable. To spend $300 on the dress and $165 on alterations was within my budget...especially to get a finished product of exactly what I wanted. Svitlana is a great seamstress...she was honest with me with her opinions of what she thought would look good and honest when she had to cancel my appointment once because she needed more time to get my dress finished. All in all, I will definitely go back and have already recommended to her to my family and friends for their tailoring needs.

Poor seamstress

When I walked into the store I thought from the looks of the dresses that Svitlana would be a good business to deal with because she appeared to be so nice but boy were we wrong...her business management skills are lacking, as she cannot seem to fit appointments in properly (always has customers waiting for long periods of time) and makes false promises that items (my dress, my veil) will be done by a certain date and repeatedly has broken those promises, time and time again, we would go to her store in hopes that they would be complete and they weren't. The extra stress she adds to your important day is unnecessary. I wish I would have taken my business elsewhere when my original gut instinct told me to do so, after the first "I'll have it done in two weeks" was a lie. In the end, my dress wasn't completed by Svitlana, I had to take it elsewhere because she wasn't finished the week of the wedding and I could not trust her to do it since she had ample time to complete it (and the veil) to begin with. The second seamstress was shamed that another seamstress in her line of work would even do such a thing. The wedding itself was a huge success but my experience of the wedding dress alterations was something that I hope no bride will ever have to go through.

Wedding Dress Nightmare

I was overcharged for alterations that Svitlana did not complete (week after week of promises that she made that it "will be done next week"). I had to pay another seamstress to finish my alterations the _week of my wedding_ when I picked it up from Svitlana...with major alterations still needing to be done. She did not finish on time and left me witha an incomplete dress. She forgot about her appointments and on a few occasions made us wait in her shop for 1-3 hours while she finished the previous appointment. She even went so far as telling me how she was hospitalized and almost died from so much stress and hasn't had dinner with her family in months and is at her shop until late hours at night (her way of explaining why her work on my dress was not complete). Not to be insensitive, but that is not my problem if she overworks herself. My problem is that she can't complete her work because she takes too much on and still ends up charging full price for it! Though she was nice, she was just too unorganized. It was the worst experience of my wedding and no one should ever have to go through it.

Untrustworthy

This seamstress made many false promises over the course of almost 3 months that she had my dress that "your dress will be done next week", and the week before my wedding, there were still many things to complete, so I ended up having to take it to another seamstress. She ruined my wedding dress experience and caused me a lot of extra stress, then had the nerve to try and charge me full price. Her excuses were that she was 'overworked' and 'stressed' herself. I want others to know to take caution if you decide to use her services, and get an expected completion date and her quote in writing.
