Modern Eyes Gallery & Gift

As Jody Reekie walked through St. Albert’s markets and shops in 2000, she realized that something was missing: there weren't enough artisan jewellery shops. Two years later, she opened Modern Eyes Gallery & Gift to supply St. Albertans with quality handmade products. “I’ve always been an artsy person,” Jody says, “and I’ve always been attracted to quality handmade items. I saw what St. Albert was missing and worked to fill that niche.”

Even when her store location was flooded due to a broken water main, Jody could not be distracted from her dream. Along with her husband and a friend, she persevered and opened a bright new storefront and began serving locals hunting for unique jewellery.
