I come here in this buffet restaurant so many times with friends because we just love the food selection and their great taste. To me, this was one of the best Chinese buffet restaurant in Ottawa with a fair meal price. It’s just sad to see this place close its doors permanently. I wish they could have remained in business even in hard times considering that there were also customers who came to love their service and great food just as much as I do.
Service is very bad, they held a large group event, in the same area we were sitting, very loud, very disturbing, we could not enjoy our meal, have to leave. Even though we just started to eat, they wanted us to pay full price. The manager was very rude, we left, never be back.
The place is unclean. There were literally cockroaches walking around and no one seemed to notice staff wise. The food was over cooked and all the cuts of meat are pure fat. My mother got some kind of pork and the meat inside was see threw like jelly. Never eat here. This restaurant needs to be shut down its a matter of health and safety there are ridiculous amount of violations happening.
Jan 29, 2016 at 11:15am my Brother stepped on a cockroach in between the salad bar and the noodle bar. Didn't see any more but one was enough for us as where there is one there must be others.
Really Love this place!! The food is always great and staff is always friendly!! The egg rolls are really great and soup is always the best!!! Love their buffet and can't wait to go back again.
it has been a long time since ive been to a buffet. but Omg !!! the food was great and tasty and a very very good variety !! i am going back there again with my friend for sure !!!
I have low expectations of chinese buffets, but, for what it is, Yangming is pretty decent. The food selection is large and if you pick wisely some of it is quite good. There are more than enough kid friendly choices to keep my little ones happy.
It's not where I'm going for a nice adult dinner, but for taking my kids out or going out with friends/family who love chinese buffets, it's a good choice.
This placed was closed for a few months due to a kitchen fire, I had visited a few times in the past but was not blown away, it was still good though.
This time on the other hand, was just awful... I took my girlfriend here around 9:30 pm, the places closes at 11... we get in the door and nobody is there to seat us, but a waitress yells across the room HOW MANY... we saw two then she gives us a "are you stupid" look for not following her right away.. That was the first mistake.
We were seated right next to 2 other tables, right in the middle, there are hundreds of seats in this place, yet the decide to cluster people so close together that you can hear their lips smack.
The food, was absolutely horrid, I swear some of the dishes must have been sitting under the lamp for at least 5 hours, the chicken on a stick was so dried out that my girlfriend almost broke her tooth on it...
We continue to eat anyway, when I am done with my plate I lift it up to move it to the side of the table only to find a big spider crawling around the table, under my plate the whole time... and it does not end here... I go up to get a few pieces of sushi and the plate that I pick up is REALLY dirty, like visibly very dirty, still chunks of food on it, it looks like it was dipped in water and never scrubbed... that was the end of the line... we demanded we leave without paying, but they said it was a customer that left the dirty plate... yeah customers leave dirty plates on top of plate piles on the buffet, even though all the dirt on the plate is very dry because it has been sitting there for so long.
They still charged us over 20 dollars for our horrible meal, and one guy actually apologized... don't apologize, just run your restaurant properly. I will never go back.... Nice people (mostly) but the food was gross and I can't get over the unsanitary conditions, spiders and dirty dishes? no thanks!
I have tried Yang Ming a total of 3 times my latest being for the lunch buffet and the previous 2 times for dinner. Al 3 times I did not feel like this was the greatest Chinese buffet to hit town. Not only are the staff unfriendly and absent but the whole atmosphere is old and stale. If your going for a run down 1990's style this is your place. Not only did the food taste of low quality on different occasions spaced over long periods but it just seemed overall dingy and dirty. If you want to lose your appetite come in and enjoy. Not recommended, not to mention the packed in sardine placement of seating was a headache to get around.
I love Raw Salmon. I find the salmon here is pretty fresh compare with many other places I visited. The salmon here doesn't smell like some other place I go to. Anyway I usually have my salmon with a touch on lemon/lime wait for the lemon to work their way into the salmon. than I usually take a bit of soya sauce and a bit of wasabi with a piece of shrimp chip or a piece of slice cucumber. or u can grill the salmon if u dont like it raw. The Soup is very good here too.
Top-notch buffet. One of the best in the City. I really like the fact that they have lots of DIm Sum selections at lunchtime and you can eat to your pleasure (last time all I had was Dim Sum stuff, except the awesome hot n' sour soup). If I ate as much Dim Sum at a regular restaurant it would have cost me easily $30-$35, just for myself. Also has great selection and good quality in other buffet items. Dessert could improve, but by that time I didn't really have any room left anyways. I'm the kind of person who would rather have another piece or two of Pork Sumai and skip the ice cream :)

Stopped by for quick friday before shopping Buffet meal. What a mistake. Food was cold and to top it off both my wife and I "suffered" with stomach "issues" all weekend.

The food, in terms of taste, is ok. But the restaurant is DIRTY. There is not much service either.
If the restaurant is cleaner, we would give a better rating on food. We pretty much lost our taste...

Amazing food. Best chinese buffet in Ottawa, by far!!! Good service, not great, but should be better considering all they do is take your empty dishes, and get you drinks. Still, food makes up for it!
I ate chicken wings(delicious!) Sushi (spectacular) Chicken Ballsw/plum sauce(Good)Noodles and rice (Great) squid, octopus ( Very very good, but they were cold) Desserts (Very Good) All kinds of Soup ( Delicious) Sodas were great. The alcohol was great service was amazing. Very kind and friendly waiters and waitresses. Beautiful atmosphere. I had aa party of 44 and we had a special room just for us. It was great and alot to fun. The waitress was very very kind and helpful. I would love to visit there again. I chose this place because I love it so much the previous times i was there. Thanks Yangming for a great time and thanks for the great service. I will se you guys soon!
