The food is amazing!!! I have been eating there for the last 8 years and the staff is very friendly, responsive, and always on time. They have great beer too. The menu has a wide variety of selections and the food is always amazing. I Love the design of the interior, it always make me feel like I'm out camping or fishing in the woods and mountains.
We have been going to Montanas for over a year because there was a server there whom we loved, her name is Kayla and she was so funny and great with our young children. Sometimes we feel that server don't want to bother with us because we have 2 young children 4&6, but Kayla is extremely pleasent funny and efficient. Last Friday night we went in to find out that she no longer works there and we were dissapointed. When we asked where she went we just got a "I don't know " answer. there was quite a difference this time in how we felt welcome, the server did'nt seem to care about every little thing like Kayla used to. We will miss her, she was an asset to your restaurant.
A friend and I went last night since I've been craving ribs for a while. The ribs are great, as usual and you can get different sauce despite the other comments here. I just wish they would serve coleslaw with the ribs, instead of the corn bread. When I first started going to Montana's, I really liked the corn bread, but now it's just too sticky and sweet and they don't even give you butter for it. Also, the ribs should come in a half rack serving. The new menu looks intriguing and I'd like to come back and try something different.

I have never been so digusted with a restaurant in my life.. the service was horrible it took forever to get our drinks and then ages for the food. My steak was very under cooked for what I had ordered, I burned my mouth very badly on the mashed potatoes, the gravy was very very hot. then when I asked to have the steak cooked a little more, my plate can back and my mashed potatoes were all over the place, I found a unidentified object in my onion rings, there was something hard in the potatoes and the steak was so grizzly it was nasty. needless to say that I told them to take it back and that I wasn't going to pay for it...then when they asked if I wanted something else instead I asked for the back ribs and low and behold they were all out of them. That was the icing on the cake for me. At that point I didn't bother ordering anything else. I will NOT return....

Service was terrible. First, the waitress missed me when asking what we wanted to drink. Not sure if she didn't see me or if she just completely forgot about me. Then, when she came with the drinks she forgot one of my friend's iced teas. A little while later when my friend asked for a refill, it took more than 10 minutes before he finally got it.
That's not all, it almost took longer to get our bills than it took to get our meals. Maybe they shouldn't spend so much time and have half of the staff singing silly songs to people when it's their birthday. It doesn't stop there, they also charged me for a drink I didn't order. On top of that, they missed giving us a bill when one of my friends said he would pay for his and someone else's bill. We were considering just paying it and leaving because we already wasted 20 min waiting for our bills, but being the nice guys that we are, we told her about the mistake.
As for the food, i seem to recall it tasting better at the Merivale location for some reason.
And when we got our bills, they gave us lollipops instead of mints??? -1 for that.
