Ali’s has been around for a long time! My family has been going to Ali’s since before I was born and the food has always been tasty with a homemade flare. The location isn’t very nice and doesn’t feel very safe but we still drive a great distance to eat an Ali’s roti. The aloo pie is great; they have good Palourie with tasty sauce. The chicken shrimp and goat roti are excellent. The peanut punch is sooth and creamy and they also have great doubles. I always enjoy everything I order from Ali’s . The last time I went the roti stuffing was a bit scarce compared to what it use to be, but it was still good. The street parking can be a bit tricky at certain times of the day with the street car tracks and limited spaces. I would recommend Ali’s to everyone and I am sure we will continue to go there for many years to come. Lire plus

Great food; really interesting atmosphere. Spectacular drinks! The seats on the outside patio are tree stumps. There's live music too on some days. The menus come on a vinyl record. And I had pretty good service too. No lingering waiters but I saw them pretty often during the night. It's one of the few cozy getaways left in Toronto. Lire plus

The oxtail is by far the best thing on this menu!! Especially combined with their amazingly tender and flaky fried dumpling !! Mmmmm. If you special request it the owner does bottle and sell her amazing jerk sauce to make heavenly chicken at home almost as delicious as the owner makes themselves!!! After discovering that Drupati's/Roti Roti was closed, I decided to visit Alima's while reading online reviews. Warning: This is a take-out only place. There are no tables/chairs to eat-in. When I walked in, no one was at the counter. Had to wait a coupla minutes for someone to come to the counter. This seemed normal as no one was bothered by it. Being that it was my first visit, I had some questions that the worker patiently answered, suggesting different options. She was very helpful. Expecting to sitdown, I ended up eating by my car, on the grass. That didn't bother me much. Food was nicely packaged, neat not spilling all over the place. Parantha roti wasn't hot, more chewy than flaky/soft. Curry itself was very flavourful and not too salty - as I find most places tend to be. If in the area and want to do a pick-up, I think Alima's is a good option. (Place seemed quite busy with a revolving door of people coming in to pick up their orders that they phoned in!) Although I do prefer the taste of Drupati's/Bara's Hut. Lire plus
