Ange's Plumbing

A great employer can change the direction of those they employ. Whether it is by supporting a different career path or offering assistance above and beyond the employer-employee relationship, a great boss can make all the difference in a life. Angelo Bavaro met one such person during the summer before attending BCIT for heavy duty mechanics.

“A friend of my dad’s asked me to work for him during the summer,” Angelo says. “I was only kicking tires at the time, so I went for it. After that summer was over, my boss had me over for dinner and offered me an apprenticeship for plumbing, underneath him. I couldn’t say no.”

After seven years with his boss, Angelo struck out on his own. “I went to find more work, but was laid off within a year of getting a new plumbing job,” Angelo says. “I went home, looked at my wife, and said that now is the time to start something on my own.” So Angelo began Ange’s Plumbing in 1993 and has yet to look back.
