This place used to be great.
Now it is AWFUL........we went there by boat for dinner on Monday July 15/13........they were obviously understaffed, especially in the Kitchen!! EXTREMELY SLOW service (we waited 45 MINUTES in the heat for our meals from the time we placed our orders!!!!!!!!!....... watered-down drinks, pathetic portions (the one piece fish and chips was particularly pathetic). When my daughter asked one of the staff where they got their butter tarts, she said, "COSTCO"! The Manageress (Owner??) heard her say that and 'chewed her out' right in front of my daughter!! Most of the food appeared to be deep fried or 'heated up' Costco stuff! I found what appeared to be 2 spider legs in my ice water. I asked for ranch dressing to be substituted for balsamic on my house salad......got balsamic...the two of us who ordered the fish and chips asked for the chips to be well-done but when they arrived, they were barely cooked......heard other diners voicing similar opinions......dirty smelly washrooms.....saw one of the 2 servers cleaning tables with an obviously reused cloth and a bucket of water.........the list goes on! Absolutely APPALLING! Won't be back.
Needs a complete makeover, including the Ownership/Management.
This resturant has turned around. The food is so good and the presentation is beautiful with fresh veg and great daily features, unique and tasteful. Would recomand to anyone go give this place a try:)
A great, fun place to eat with an exceptional view
Since the new owners took over in the summer (2011) this place taken on a whole new life. The food and service has returned to the quality people expect from this restaurant. The relaxed atmosphere ruined by the last owner has been restored and it is again a fun place to eat with great food and friendly staff. It's nice to see that customers are once again treated with respect and any concerns are dealt with fairly and promptly . The new owners are friendly and helpful. The food presentation is excellent and the new menu has many unique items on it. The pulled pork I had was amazing and plentiful and hot. Both the Caesar and the Greek salads were very good .The soup portion was large and delicious and the coffee was excellent and served in HUGE cups. We left happy and satisfied.Hopefully if things keep improving here at this rate the next review will be 5 stars. A really nice place to eat.
Just wanted people to know that there is new ownership and there will be changes with everything Mainstreet in the next 8 months, so please try it again!!!
Everything will be exceptional once we get things fixed up from the previous owner!!
I have brought my family here 3 times and sat for 20 minutes before someone came and took our drink order. We waited for 55 minuted once for our order to be cooked. Horrible staff!
Pub fare withthe Country atmosphere. Don't be fooled though, the supplies are from out of area, and have to be trucked in from Peterborough Area.
Average Fare at above average prices.
