Excuses is a small town bar in the city, its no worse or better then a bar you would find in lindsay, peterbrough, midland ect ect.... 90% of the time we have a great time, we are always treated with respect by staff (but then i believe you have to respect to get respect) If your into big city clubs this is not the place for you, if your looking for a place were you just want to chill and see regulars this is the place.

I didnt really go to Dinner at this restaraunt. I really wouldnt even call it a Restaraunt. it is more like a bar with a Menue. But I have sampled some of the finger foods they do serve and they were quite tastey. I go to this bar on saturday nights with my friends. They ahve a great Dj and Dancing on Thursday, Froday and Saturday Nights. They play, Dance, Hip Hop (Mainly Hip Hop), reggae and a few Country Songs (only by request). The crowd there is a mature crowd. There are hardly any fights and if there is the Door Staff take care of it right away and they are never allowed back in. The Dj that is there on Saturday nights is very approacable, he will take your requsts and play then right way. The Door staff are very good at checking IDs. And if they have the slightest idea that the ID is fake they dont even hesitate, they just dont let them in. The Door Staff are very friendly, they look intimidating but they areally are very nice people. Excuses has about 15 Door Staff/Bouncers and about 15 Servers so you never have to wait very long to get a drink. There are 3 bars in the facility. One by the back windows, one by the stairs going up to the Out Door Patio, and One on the Out Door Patio. Excuses is great because it has a Smoking Patio outside on the roof so they have never lost business because of the smoking ban. So if you are a smoker Excuses is the bar for you. Also if you dont like crowds then you can chill up on the Patio where there is a bar near the back of the patio. So you can smoke and drink up there all night long. They also pump the music from downstairs up on the patio so you can still hear what is going on downstairs. There is also a HUGE and I mean HUGE television screen ont he roof so you can watch the Game that is on as well as party with friends up there. There is no sound ont he tv but you can still watch it. But int he winter they shut the tv down because they dont want the screen ruined. Excuses' lay out is great. The Dancefloor is situated in the middle of the bar and it is quite large in size. About 50 people confortably on it without having to bump into people. The down fall of the dance floor is that you can bring your drink on it. But that okay, who needs to be stepping in spilled beer while dancing in your nice shoes. The dress code at Excuses is not dressy, but you cant wear dirty ratty clothes. You cant wear Do-Rags and you cant wear any gang colors, but other than that wear what you have on and come and have a GREAT time with people from around Durham Region. I give this Bar 5 stars.

Im at excuses everyweekend, Great people, great music, great staff..... Love it there n will be a loyal patron for a long time to come!
