Located on Baldwin Street, the inviting Sambuca Grill is on one of the most buzzing little restaurant streets in the city convenient for work or play. "We get a lunch rush every day from the local offices and can assure you that we'll serve you swiftly so you have enough time to get back to your desk," says chef Thava Thani. "We're also great for a quick bite if you're at one of the hospitals near University."
Sambuca Grill may be convenient and able to deliver speedy service when necessary, but it manages to do so while effortlessly maintaining high-end classic Italian food at prices that won't burn a hole in your pocket. "Customers say they have never had a bad meal here," beams Thava.
Been here a few times for work related funtions--not amazing, but certainly not bad either. It's a bit above average, but that's about it.
Service is usually quite slow, and they have some annoying "rule" about not making or serving martinis before 6pm (?!). All in all--it will do, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there if there is anything better around.
i visited this restaurant for the first time with my friends. i had a salad and it was delicious. The t-bone steak that came with a red wine sauce was amazing. I asked for a medium rare steak and it was cooked perfectly to what i wanted. lastly i had desert, i had white chocolate lava cake which was mouth watering. we are planning to visit the restaurant again, plus the service was on time and friendly.
this place is horrid! there are cockroaches on the walls in the back near the kitchen. When I was there, one of the people who i was with found a fly or bug of some kind in his salad and when i approached the server about it, I was told that the cook/owner would not do anything about it. I did not get a new salad or a discount at all. The owner is not the most pleasant. He seemed to treat his employees horribly and didn't care about me as the customer at all. The food isn't good enough to make up for the cockroaches/bugs/poor service. There are many other places in the area that are much better who will care when you have a problem with your food. It was a very bad experience and I definitely would not go back here again.

I've been here quite a lot since starting to work in the area last May and have enjoyed my meal every time. I also recommend the Tilapia in red pepper sauce and the Chicken breast.
The price range here is not excessive and the quality of the food makes it very good value in my opinion.

We liked the atmosphere, the menu, just everything so much that after dinner we went back and had dessert and irish cream coffee.
Very relaxing. It is a very fun but wreaks of expensive taste! just amazing!
House red was good, better than usual. Capon chicken was fantastic. Good portion (I'm a 29yr old male, big appetite and I was full). Wife's pasta was good, more seafood than other restaurants. Pasta was a bit overcooked, but still good. Coffees were great. Great meal, relaxing atmosphere, and all for $65 including tax/tip. Great food for the money. Will go back again.
