Norman and Marlene Donaldson opened Spirits Bar & Grill at 642 Church Street, just south of Bloor Street, in 1987. The business opened as a bar next to Marlene’s flower store but later took over that space and bloomed into a premier Toronto entertainment destination. Norman and Marlene’s daughter Heli and General Manager Chris Schmaltz now oversee the thriving business. The grand structure offers a large and elegant space for dining, drinking, and live entertainment. The building also features outstanding patios that seat over 100 people.
Heli and Chris help maintain the quality of the events, the food and drink, and the service at this family business. “This is a family business and we take great pride in our products,” Chris says.
