Hi, I visited this place early on a quiet Sunday afternoon in December with a friend, and a $45 voucher. Even though I had waited over a year before using it (no expiry date), the staff were very warm & gracious. They feature an overwhelming variety of food, so I asked the server about what she suggested, based on my specific preferences. Her suggestion was perfect for my taste. The portions were very generous (enormous amount of food for only $9 - $11). It was brought to us quickly and it was hot, fresh & delicious. Two of us had $45 to use, & since our first round was only $23 (for both) we went home with a complete second round "to-go". This will be 1 of the VERY FEW places that I have tried for the FIRST time on a voucher, & will be HAPPY to return. Good work China Village. Expect us back! Lire plus

The service here is great. I'm obsessed with the Singaporean-style slaw to the point where I've drove across the city just to get it as take out. The portion is great to save for a quick bite the next day. The tables are a bit close together in the room off the main room but the attentiveness of the servers makes up for it! Lire plus

We have gone there several times as it a local place for us. The service was excellent and everything at dinner was very well prepared even though we made small request changes. The menu has excellent choices. We went with 3 kids who were able to get their specific choices. Everyone was quite friendly. Last week we went for an early dinner and they were full. I have been going to Satay on the Road off and on for the better part of 15 years and have never once in that time had a disappointing meal. The food is always fantastic and despite having tried a myriad of different items I always come away from Satay satisfied. Of particualr note are one of the appetizers and one of the mains. First, the appetizer. Golden Baskets. They should call them by their full name...Golden Baskets of Amazing Tasty-ness with Just the Right Amount of Flavourful Spicy Goodness. I guess there isn't enough room on the menu for that though. These and the spring rolls are the perfect combo to kick off your meal. The second is Cashew Nut Chicken. I still hold Satay on the Road's Cashew Nut Chicken up as the gold standard for this dish. On a recent visit it made me miss Toronto...it is that good! The drinks list is kitschy too...they have their cocktail menu on those paper place-mats that used to be all the rage back in the '70s. Ah nostalgia. Anyway, located in the heart of Bayview Village...the area not the mall...Satay on the Road is a must dine for anyone who loves Thai and Malaysian food! Lire plus
